Episode 7 was even better I think!

This show is surprise of the year for me, so well done and highly entertaining. The atmosphere is spot on, together with many other aspects scuh as script, acting, visuals, etc.

Yes ep7 was brilliant. Tense atmosphere, beautiful cinematography, great character development.

Hope they keep this up until the end

I never thought I'd add another Disneyian Star Whurrs show to my backlog ever again but all the positive comments are promising, and here we are *presses the button*. Let's just hope it won't fall into a sudden downward spiral Razz

Another great episode, probably even better than the last two. Great design too everywhere, it looks so much better than the other Star Wars shows.

i dont get why the first few episodes were 30min when the latest ones are 50min. its like they did it on purposs couse they thought the regular star tard viewer would complain about the runtime or something.

i see this will have a season 2 or something

Wow, what a stellar (no pun intended) episode again! This is the best show this year, I'm so glad I haven't skipped it. I already know I'm gonna re-watch the entire season in a single sitting when it's over.

Only 4 episodes in and this is already much more interesting than anything that Dysney has produced in the last 5 years, at least.

Unsure if this is as good as I think it is, or if my mind is playing tricks on me due to how bad other star wars has been. The last few eps seem to have been reallllllllly good though. Literally every aspect of them

It really is good so far. I am very skeptical about these new shows. No signs of woke. No signs of agenda pushing.

Instead actually grown up conversations, good acting (wow, this one really took me by surprise), and actually the very best world building in SW since the prequels.

But the best part is, this is NOT the SW world we know, but it fits in PERFECTLY. They actually managed to expand on it, but did it WELL.

I am going to watch ep 10., I really hope it keeps up the quality.

And it all comes down to writing. These are not hacks. It all comes down to talent. To Tony Gilroy (like him or not, he is a good writer). State of play. Michael Clayton (yes, it is good), Bourne movies.

The funny thing is the showrunner and some actor pushed hard for it being woke. It's supposed to portray a dark "Trumpian world". So it seems like in one way or the other they must say it's woke, even when it's likely not something that crosses the mind for most people anyways..

I hear, what you say, but:

It has actually ZERO woke messages. The world is not Trumpian (if anything, Gilroy took inspiration from communism, the world is a corrupt, bureaucratic dictatorship, with an organization akin to KGB).

The most refreshing thing, is that the writing has NOTHING to do with today's politics (either side). Characters are complex. They have flaws. No simple good guy vs. bad guy (but in a very mature way).

The show treats the audience with respect. Assumes a level of intelligence.

I get what you mean though: you must pay lip service to the idiotic woke journo mob, to not get buried. But it is lip service only, this show is pure. Finally no real life politics.

I hope it does very well. Just watched episode 10. This is by far the best show of 2022, and I am very surprised at this. Severance comes up next in line for me. But this is first.

Wait, wait, wait. Which fans don't like it?

Let's check Rotten Tomatoes user score (critic score, or woke journo socre means nothing)
Boba Fett - 55
Obi-Wan - 63
Andor - 84

Remember, the first and second generation of SW fans are now grown up people. All my original SW fan friends, who hated absolutely everything Disney has done actually like this show.

Maybe he meant it has less viewers than any of the other SW shows. i think i read that somewhere. I can see that, after the failure which was Obi-Wan, people are giving up. They also went out and said obi-wan is bisexual lol.. they'll do anything to annoy fans so that they won't watch their shows, they want that new and hip audience, which they imagine exists.

that is what i ment, this show has the lowest viewership not because people fed up with sw, but to the retarded sw fan that all they want is memberies this show is boring and bad.

ofc normal people who like normal things like the og sw movies they gonna like this.

also, another writer behind this is the house of cards writer and showrunner

like proper people are attached to this show, no wonder its good

All in all I heartily agree with the overall sentiment. Much so that sometimes it feels like we're not watching Star Wars, reminded by when you see the obvious alien character in the background.

I have a pesky doubt with the last episode tho, bare with me Razz

I think they addressed this point very well in the show. The question of why there were no microphones set up in the prisoner quarters to spy on them. Why no TIE fighters go after their trail instantly.

All of this is answered pretty well via dialogue: the empire is overall incompetent and complacent, and they simply don't believe the rebels could actually manage to mount a resistance, so they don't pay close enough attention. These are well presented and plausible reasons (because the show actually presents the empire as deadly, yes, but arrogant also - thus too overconfident. It also shows the empire to be corrupt and unattentive).

Truly, honestly, I am surprised by how well crafted this actually is.
