Found it.

Far.Cry.6-EMPRESS (03/06/2022!)

But that's like... 20 years ago. Mad

I am sure all the post-release updates made it into a beautiful, optimized, fantastic game.

yeah, it's version 1.5.0. I guess that is "title update 5" there seems to be update 6, which i don't think is cracked, but i'll search at our favorite *.ru site.

edit: the bugfixes for latest update are so minimal that i don't think its needed. NG+, i don't care about that shit Razz

when i'm in a gaming mood i just want to play everything. i'm too embarrassed to tell you how many games i've installed since yesterday. it was good though, because i really had to clean out old junk on my SSD's to make it all fit.

Real RTCW (Return to Castle Wolfenstein - mod link)
Alien Isolation (slow, yearly walkthrough)
Ghost Recon Wildlands (man, this game... IS looking GOOD in first person*!)

*bit wonky, but it reminds me a bit of Operation Flashpoint from 150 years ago - bet you kids never heard of that game...

I should give Wildlands a go again, played it a little some years ago, it seemed good. Probably way better than spending time on either FC6 or Watch Dogs 2.. i'm getting bored with the later, the missions just suck.. its such a cool premise for a game, but ultimately it is just poorly implemented and not that fun in practice. The hipster kids gets on my nerves a bit too Embarassed

Calancylands might provide genuinely nice vistas and even some immersive situations with the HUD turned off, but its structure and designs are among the Ubisoftest Ubi has ever Ubisofted. What a shame

Anyway, after replaying through all the classic 2D Command and Conquer games and with Red Alert 2 (unsurprisingly) still being king, I'm re-tackling the 3D ones as well. My only problem with them was the lousy 30fps cap, but since Lossless Scaling exists, it's now possible to play them up to 90 fake-but-real fps thanks to the X3 framegen option enabled (with some ghosting - though still immensely better than the default version), great stuff men. I had almost forgotten about Red Alert 3's hilarious cheese with strong soft-porn vibes ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Ya I was going through Tiberian Sun standalone mods earlier in the year. This mod campaign is really good: https://www.moddb.com/mods/the-second-tiberium-war

I'm pretty much retro-gamer. Gzdoom games, Original xcom with mods. If I want sims, rimworld or songs of syx. I'm not interested in multi-player games, burnt out of sOuLsLikE, not interested in anything open-world. Also still play each PoE league as I've never read build guides to ruin the game.

I can't recommend anything with "modern graphics" released this year, they've all been crap, riddled with bugs, poor performance.. and even if they were bug-free, uninspired.

Shadowrun trilogy, just about to complete Dragonfall. I think I only ever played Returns. Cool games, but way too short.

Fallout 4 DLC's.. getting kinda bored
Regular Factory Escape Room (this one's a bitch, very tricky/difficult)

That's it. I haven't found anything made 2023-2024 that's piqued my interest. Sad

Backlog clearing mostly.

Haven't really said much about gaming in a while but there's a fair bit of fun to be had the Yakuza series, little by little though since they get pretty damn big and there's a real risk of burnout otherwise.

Kiwami 1, Kiwami 2, Yakuza 0, Gaiden, Judgement and bits of Yakuza 3, Like a Dragon, Ishin and then there's still Yakuza 4, Yakuza 5 and Yakuza 6 to go with Infinite Wealth and Lost Judgement after the prior titles are wrapped up.

Been hard to top Yakuza 0 though, Gaiden was surprisingly good for a "filler" until Infinite Wealth or a nixed DLC idea for Like a Dragon expanded upon a bit.
Ishin isn't bad either but it has some of the trappings of the older engine and gameplay but nothing too serious or problematic.

Some smaller titles and what comes up during sales or such, Bloodstained was entertaining although I wanted to experience the older Castlevania titles after a while. Very Happy

Bit of Elder Scrolls Online as well, it is fairly light on transactionary suggestions though it is always there and some of the perks are quite skewed like infinite carrying capacity for crafting materials, of which there is so much it basically eliminates inventory management entirely having that.
Writing still holds up, particularly the latter chapters added since launch, but One Tamriel and the level scaling is still a bit of a chore until you hit the point where it lifts and can start actually building skills and gear effectively.

Fallout 76. It's surprisingly addicting. Not a fan of building in Fallout 4 but fun here. And the community is less toxic than any other online game I have played.
Got the Starfield Star Wars mod queued up but forgot the name of that mod.
Diablo 4 here and there
And finally finishing the Dungeons 4 campaign

Yesterday I installed Stalker: Call of Pripyat and Company of Heroes 2.

I can't find any recent games that are even slightly interesting for some reason. They don't make'em like they used to. It's all soulslike or pvevpvp or some janky indie game.

Finishing my huge backlog this year. Already finished 32 games in 2024.

Last game finished: Ghost Recon Wildlands 8/10 imo

Next on the list: Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain

Thinking about buying: Final Fantasy 16 (but still not sure though)

Feeling the exact same way, it's like trying to scratch an itch with a fart. It just stinks up the room and you dont feel any better.
I've been replaying the old classics a lot lately, back when way more effort was put in single player.
Almost every game these days is about hitting trees to collect wood, some forever resource grind, souls copycats or live service money trap. Skinner's boxes on steroids.

GTA: VC — Original version, not the remaster. Fooled around a while trying to get it to install. After I had everything set up and running, I downloaded a mod for it, and that mod turned out to be a complete game. Portable version, everything running out of the box. Rockstar is apparently very lenient regarding piracy. I also found whole dvd isos on Internet Archives while I was looking for radio rips.
Nobody Wants to Die — Almost certainly abandoned. It's worse than walking sim, it's practically rollercoaster sim. You only go from a hotspot to a hotspot and listen/read exposition.
Ghost of Tsushima — Finishing things, it was a nice ride.

Right old XCOM with mods.
Tiberian sun standalone mods from time to time.
And path of exile for a couple of weekends each patch (12? Yr old game)
GZDoom games / mods, Ashes and Salaco were both great games for me this year.

The only new games I've played or have semi interest in are the RE series, maybe this new Silent Hill but why not remake the original game first?

Soulslike meh, anything online meh, many indies are just more of the same at this point, rarely get a new spin on something.
