Men that sux ! How do you manage your insomnia ? I've tried all that behavioral BS and relaxing techniques but to no avail. The only remedy for me is Ambien (Sanval or Lunata here).

God damnit men, I got the Wuhan virus for first time. First day or so tired had a couple of day sleeps. After the first day though just unable to sleep. I did 40 hours straight + remote work day no break, and even last night I crashed at 8 but still didn't sleep til midnight.
This shit sucks.

Maybe, if 40 hours no sleep falls outside insomnia. I've had stress induced insomnia + panic attacks a couple of times in the past as well which isn't fun. Your subconscious works against you, where even if you do fall asleep you wake up heart racing after an hour or so.
Going back to op, his best bet is probably ambian / stillnox - personally I avoid all meds as the side effects always weigh me down next day. I actually find ASMR works with sleep headphones quite effectively for me.
"MUSICOZY Sleep Headphones Bluetooth" you want the volume at a point where you can hear but it not necessarily listen to it.

Sleep headphones? When you sleep your brains also need rest, so stimuli while you sleep are bad.
I just fall asleep when my body tells me to. That is a luxury not everyone can afford though. (unemployed, welfare)

Your not listening though, it's like hearing rain on a tin roof when your sleeping, it's relaxing right?
My go-to is "ASMR divinity", she replicates the sounds of rolling oceans, crackling fires and thunders storms, sometimes all 3. Don't have it super loud either.
primal instincts @iconized , Brain likes caveman sounds to sleep.

I do confirm that we like soothing sounds while we like to fall asleep, so have them on a timer.

I use white noise speaker. You'll have to figure out for yourself the right kind of white noise and the volume level. Headphones don't work for me.

I've recovered from my third one the other day. I'm ashamed for this covid-19 variant, I had regular non covid-19 colds that felt much worse.
First covid I had in March 2020 I didn't sleep for 7 days. Even sleeping pills didn't help. Weakness, symptoms of a developing stroke.
We were all sick when very little was known about covid-19 and what to do about it. I'm sure now your doc will find a way to mitigate your symptoms.

I never did need much sleep, but i think one thing that makes it easier is my adhd medicin. It makes me more awake/clear in the head. So even if tired as hell, it gets better. BUT i still have headache way too often and my temper has gone from bad to extremly bad.
The adhd medicin makes me less agressive, but combined with the low amount of sleep and some other factors - i've become abit too agressive. Infact, i feel like i sometimes try and find a reason to get angry/voilent.
Combine that with my current mental health state (very depressed) and you got a recipe for disaster. | Hang in there bro.
I'd say it might be some mid life crisis situation type-deal but if my math is correct you're already a few years past that.
Last year probably had my bout with it (the first and hopefully the only one...) and it wasn't easy

Vitamin B6, is the one vitamin you should not get too much of:
Quote: | Megavitamin-B6 syndrome is predominately a large fiber neuropathy characterized by sensory loss of joint position, vibration, and ataxia. Although it has characteristics of small fiber neuropathy in severe cases where there is impairment of pain, temperature, and autonomic functions. |

Now this is a topic I'm familiar with. As my doctor corrected me, insomnia isn't what most people actually think i.e. it's doesn't mean sleeping at all but more like sleeping less than your body actually needs you to. I have, for over 12 years, slept max 4 hours per night. Almost never had an issue falling a sleep but mostly staying asleep. Since I'm fairly young this hadn't bothered me until last few years when I started waking up more tired than ever. So after going to sleep clinics, doctors etc. and trying on some medication (from OTC to some heavy sh*t) I joined a group led by a very good doctor here in Greece, which followed a different path to "salvation". I was absolute when it came to treatment options, for any condition/disease, meaning I didn't believe in psycho-analysis-mumbo-jumbo-self-help but I did believe that only medication can truly "fix" you. Boy was I wrong and pleasantly surprised, hence why keeping an open mind always helps.
At this group, which lasted approx. 2 months (1 per week meetings), almost everyone had the same issue as me. Some were related (due to age and other physiological factors) to sleep apnea (you should do a test just to be sure in case you need a mouth guard or a CPAP) but most due to psychological issues. So the "solution" actually comes from ancient Greece, specifically Pythagoras (who is considered the father of all philosophers) and his golden verses. Every night before sleep we would read first 44 verses out of the 71 and then, using those as a "moral guideline", we would reflect on our daily actions (or lack thereof), from morning till night, and talk to ourselves in 3rd person like a child, reprimanding (not with a harsh tone) oneself for all the wrong choices made whilst thanking oneself for the good ones. Even the smallest detail (like brushing your teeth!) helps. We would each take turns in the meeting and explain how we were doing and if we noticed any changes etc.
In the beginning, as you can imagine, my first though was "what kind of bulls*t is this?!". After a month in, I saw a great improvement (which I couldn't believe) because I started sleeping almost 5 hours, after sooooo many years, whilst not waking up tired, trying to drag myself out of bed every morning. The cherry on top was that the improvement wasn't only related to my sleep disorder but on multiple facets of life. After reading on more literature about Pythagoras but also other studies made based on this, I started to see the logic behind self-awarness and "feeling good about oneself" and what a huge impact it has one everyday life situations. There are even studies showing how this method helps the brain develop new pathways (neuroplasticity) which help on other operational areas of the brain (cognition, memory etc), through this "stress management method" as they name it. If you combine this with a, let's say, 4 days a week exercise plan, you will see even more positive differences in you life. Now I'm sleeping 5 hours standard, waking up to take a piss (hate this part of getting old) and not feeling that tired most of the time. In my case I understand that expecting to fix something I had for years in a matter of months is stupid. It's a process and don't expect miracles unless you are consistent and have tons of patience.
So if anyone is willing to try this, I'd be happy to help in any way possible. And if you need the references to the studies here is one: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29609939/.
Take care and stay positive.
