"Let's make the trailer look a bit like that Fortnite game, maybe a bit Disneyesq? Because it's really popular these days with mOdErN AuDieNcEs, and we have a lot of those we hope!"
Strawman much? Was this trailer made by a specific person?
what has Kathleen Kennedy (Disney) added apart from making it lame and gay and putting chicks in it? it can happen for Disney but not for other companies?
Diversity hires is a huge issue with the gaming industry, people are not hired because they're great at what they do but because of their sex or skin color, it can absolutely influence a trailer such as this, and it would make perfect sense too, this is not orchestrated by a person who understands gamers i would think.

I'm sure you well get why "this is what happens when you hire women" sounds incredibly misogynistic and reductive (didn't sound like a joke)
If such a statement isn't, then nothing is

Wow. What the fuck is going on there. This is like your avarage 3th person action slasher with generic fantasy shit. This was once the spiritual succesor to Baldurs Gate .
Fighting the Pride demon (on this month? Pretty based ), enemies slowly walking towards you with the worst case of hemorrhoids (the xir/xer developers touch? ) ever witnessed in Thedas as to not cause a messy 2 or 3 vs 1 situation and some of those combat moves from the main character took me back to DA2 and we're almost (or already) 10 years past that.
Meh.

13 years past that
The trailer: 48k upvotes, 59k down
At least most people recognise this is shit. After Baldur's Gate 3, this really needed to be a lot better than it is. Another relationship simulator with combat + RPG lite.
There are separate options for binary and non-binary pronouns and gender

BioWare's work behind the scenes, meanwhile, goes as deep as not only skin tones but skin undertones, melanin levels, and the way skin reacts differently to light. Speaking of, there are also a range of lighting options within the character creator to check how your character looks - which sounds inconsequential, but as anyone who left that first oddly green cave of Dragon Age: Inquisition to find their once-handsome character transformed into a walking horror in the natural light of the overworld will know, makes a real difference. "Nothing worse than spending hours fine-tuning your character, you get into that first cutscene, and you go 'oh my god it looks so sterile in this lighting!' No worries about that," Busche joked, somewhat pointedly. There's also a range of full-body customisation options like a triangular slider between body types, and individual settings down to everything from shoulder width to, er, glute volume.
Thank goodness. I was worried there for a sec, that they wouldn't go into this much detail. I'm sure this covers all aspects of the game, not just the character me me me creator

The writing is cheesy, but deliciously cheesy - there is a place for this very specific, "I'm voicing my own D&D character out loud" flavour of high fantasy cheese.
But why did you laugh? This is what BioWare does “best”; pander to trendy nonsense as ”recommended” by Sweet Baby DEI retards, for a generation that does almost zero video gaming, and then wonder why their “games” didn’t sell well.
Because they're implying 'doing well' is doing what Bioware in its heydey did well, not what nu-Bioware have been doing for the past ~14 years with a simple gameplay loop + social/political checkboxes. And if I'm reading it wrong, and if they meant otherwise, then all I can do is laugh
Speaking of doing well, their UI designers are obviously top notch too. This looks fun to navigate with a KB+M:
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
