The new release date for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl was announced. The game will be released on September 5, 2024 and is available for pre-order now!
Inb4 the "Final" thing refers to the "Announcement" and not to the "Release Date" meaning that after this one they're done announcing when the game will really come out.
I dont mind another pushback, its not like they are lazy or shit like that. Also we waited so long without even knowing there would be a real Stalker 2 so no big deal for me.
Fuck even GTA 6 takes now atleast 12 years after its predecessor, what are a couple of months in comparsion or a year more. I can wait for a proper version, hope they dont have to cut too much corners and rip half the game away from it just to make it function.
Same, I don't give a damn if they keep delaying this over and over again as long as it ends up delivering and if possible, not completely janky (thank god mods were there for the first iterations..), which remains rather likely so far

There's still time for marketing I guess, all they are showing are graphics and drawn out scripted sequences like the Metro series. Which is fine too against what the rest of the industry are making.
Actually we rarely ever see studios walk through the various innovative features of their games like the old days, is that because they don't innovate on the base mechanics and AI maybe? hmm.
I'm just not expecting something like original Stalker games that was trying to be innovative at the time blending factions, combat with friendly / enemy AI that wasn't scripted. It was one of the first shooters to add diablo type inventory to an FPS, from memory it had leaning, prone and more sim elements than a typical shooter.
It was also buggy as hell, ran like shit and crashed a lot. From the studio's perspective Metro was riches and success, Stalker was a disaster.
Despite some questionable things (Metro-esque cutscenes, cheap UI that I hope will be toggleable, underlying dose of jankiness) I can't help but feel giggity about this. If anything, one can tell that the authentic Breeki tone itself is there without any extra purpleitis, which is quite the rarity in this day and age. Fingers crossed for a technically presentable mutant, іdі кɵ мeп.
What we should have for all of these games: 10-15 mins of uninterrupted gameplay footage. These trailers are hard to get excited for. They're games. Show us game!
