|

I'm thinking of buying the Logitech G5 mouse. Should I buy it or wait for its successor (When will it come out? – The fact that the G5 has only one thumb button annoys me).

I'm sure the Razer is awesome, but I wanna know if Logitech (or Razer for that matter) is about to release the next generation of mice anytime soon. I'd hate to buy a mouse now and see that a newer version is released a month or two later.

Well the Razer Copperhead was released late last year so im guessing that Razer are probably ok for a good while, plus mice technology isnt really very fast moving, so I wouldnt worry about it too much. I have the diamondback by Razer and its a wonderful mouse, I wouldnt bother upgrading for the copperhead because the technology isnt that huge a leap.. I wouldnt worry too much about it.
As for logitech Im pretty sure they only just came out with a mouse (The G5 is no doubt the one Im thinking off) to counteract the Razer's new technology, so again, I wouldnt think a new "gaming" mouse would be released by them for a little while.
Try checking when the next technology "show" is on as thats when new products are generally shown off, if its soon, wait for it and see what comes up.

Get the Logitech G7 it's wireless and has 2000 dpi, I have one and I really like it.

Well its way better to have a mouse with cord when it comes to gaming... And both the G5 and Razor Copperhead has 2000dbi and has cord.

The G7 is a cordless mouse designed for gameing and it rocks, no lag or anything, plus the cords on mice always get snaged on something or other, since I've gone wireless I will not go back.

It has been proved that cord is the fastest in regard of gaming. My MX1000 fucked up seriously and had interference :/ Now I know Bluetooth is implented in the G7 but still...

Well the purpose decides if it should be with cord or without cord...

Razer is working on a new mouse with 2500dpi. When it is going to be released I have no idea. But it will come someday.
Behold his GLORY! Bow for the technical master!

I have an MX 1000, and I really can't complain about its performance...
If you're getting what's new for the sake of getting what's new, go with the G5 or the Razor. I enjoy my MX1000 much more than I would an "omggamerftw" mouse. The other day, I actually made a powerpoint presentation using it, speaking of versatility. I used the mouse as a wireless remote. Had some fun fucking with people while they tried to get their presentations up >
Gaming-wise, I'd say the MX1000 fares pretty well in all applications. There's no percievable lag at all, and the controls are smooth and even, and the 10 buttons really help (map reload onto an easily accessible mouse button rather than "r" and see how much your performance increases).

Mine fucked up totally the range decreased after 2 weeks, battery life is now on 3 days instead of 2 weeks and it is shaking.
Besides mouse with cord are faster then a wireless mouse.
