I heard the jedis are 100% LAPD and Child Protective Services + also uses typical dialogue that they would use
They just can't stop inserting present day politics into fantasy/sci-fi stuff. This shit never ages well and shows they don't know what escapism means.
It's also quite immersion breaking when characters sound like highschoolers or contemporary people in TikTok videos.
The problem isn't even inserting present day politics, since this has always been the case to a degree. It's how you do it. They have no writing skill. They are just hacks with an agenda.
It's still difficult to believe that in this sea of currentyear-y rubbish, Andor popped out of nowhere and made all its peers pale in comparison. It barely even felt like Star Wars, which is probably one of the reasons why it worked so well. inb4 S02 goes to the dogs

Nah, it identifies as "they" with at least 1/137 genders.
Anyway, I see that this show has been widely panned as a shit show which was to be expected after the more recent info about the show. I was sort of looking forward to it when it was announced; "Oh, cool, actual Jedi stuff".. but no, it's just a vehicle for hbtqeoldjkfh-politics.
It's a "good" thing though. Like all other gender political shows disguised as part of a beloved sci-fi/space opera franchise it's failing miserably and we already know that Disney is really tired of getting smacked in it's face by the über-woke and "subversive" creators that is ruining their most treasured franchise whether it be for tv or movies.
This show was one of the shows presented before the Disney bosses grew tired of Kathleen Kennedy and somewhat demoted her control over the franchise. The wokeness era in tv and movies seems to slowly erode (a bit too slow for my taste) and shows that are being planned/green lit these days are probably not going to be platforms for gender politics, esp. not franchises and ideas that have absolutely no business being used for that purpose. Fallout showed perfect restraint with that stuff, adding a single non-binary actor/actress without making any kind of statement or fuss about it. I hope I'm right.

Had Disney been tired of it then it would be gone after main saga failure, but nope. Sadly i believe too many Disney bosses and whatever is also qukte woke
Removing sound and explosions in space makes for bad / dull cinema.
Having scenes with fire in space and letting it be a focus point, is bad cinema and writing.

Totally agree. Scientifically accurate stuff belpngs in more serious and realistic movies.
Oddly enough this guy - who abhorred Picard season 3, which was sort of liked by Critical Drinker circles - finds first 2 episodes of Acolyte somewhat enjoyable.
The Force is a thread, this thread of the nforce
The third episode of Acolyte for Star Wars is gonna be like Timeless Children episode for Doctor Who. Total annihilation of the lore.
My following impression being as objective as possible:
I liked the sets, kung fu fight choreography and the distant CG scenes of the world.
Didn’t like the Osha character’s acting. If not for the character Mae, I’d think the actress can’t act at all. Her range with Mae is all set and confident but with Osha it’s embarrassingly all over the place.
I think the actress looks prettier than how she’s presented in the show. I think it’s because of the character’s hairstyle. It’s way too afro and hammers hard on her ethnic identity. The hairstyle acts like a cap covering her face and sports her facial features in all the wrong ways. The actress doesn’t even sport this hairstyle in real life, in any of the marketing interview material.
Didn’t like the way the storytelling style handles the whodunnit mystery and revelation. Zero tension whatsoever, just dumb.
I liked Mae’s outfit with the cape, armor and everything.
Sol, played by Lee Jung-jae effortlessly carries his each scene.
Overall, found it all low stakes and far from anything epic. Waiting for the actual controversial 3rd episode.
Oh nooooo... She must NOT be allowed to even go near anything remotely connected to KOTOR. She can keep the high republic era since it's quite uninteresting to me (invented 2011 in some SW book). The Old Republic on the other hand is even richer and more interesting than even ABY.
