Theres alsorts of implications of the reasons he won't release it. I can't pretend to know them all. But if I were in a similar position as he is in. I can't say I would release it either.
I mean why would a high level xbox expert that he is and has proven to be in the past, would he spout utter bullshit in saying he has a hack that cannot be confirmed.
Well there is two ways to proove it.
1) Realease it
2) Record a film where he runs one or more backups on a X360

you know man i get what you're trying to say but the fact is microsoft has the money and the influence to pretty much crush anyone who did that into life long purgatory. Its like a 15 yr old kid walking up to mike tyson and saying ok mike lets fucking have it i'll smash ur face in.
And you do know right that microsoft loose money on the 360's selling tons of boxes isnt gonna make it a success, selling games and liscences does that m8, they could sell a console to everyone in the world but if no one buys games all they do is loose money.
And as for the bad sector thing jonels try reading the actual dvd firmware hack thread for xbox360 on the website and educate urself.

I think the kid might cracked xbox 1 firmware. And now when evryone called him "nerdo and lamer" that he doesnt want to release it. He wants to be "cool" again with his nerdo friends and lie about that he cracked the 360. As he won the first xbox. And now in all sudden he bought the 360? hmmmmz
If people havn't read the post, the xbox360 has been hacked. Meaning that it is possible to run back-ups. allthough at this point it still is a bit fuzzy exactly what kind.
It should be noted that this, for now, only covers games from the same region.

He is not the only one contributing to their project. I can understand him though, if you have one of the wealthiest companies breathing down your back you might want to be careful when your walking somewhere that might not be legal.

Well they did make a thread which contains info about the steps they took, so even though they won't release the firmware hack, there is plenty of info for others to do it instead.

could be, still the one done by the specialist is more documented so I'd rather put my money on him. Still, what ever makes me able to use a xbox360 as a media center I will use... and of course its a hot swap.

The hotswap one is fake (it was a joke) , also I have my doubts on the specialist one, does anyone else think the video lead is not plugged into the 360, it's well on the wonk if it is. I wonder if the one round the back is like that too.
