Classic WOB
Claiming he hates Ubi style games and prefers games for real gamers type pc games.
But then came this game. Play iit on medium so you can feel like a badass and there is tons of fun stuff to discover and collect, how cool is that! I don't need a new pc cause it's all bad ports anyway. This is a good port, 1080p FTW!
Yeah, at least be honest about it. Some of the open world ubi-like games are just good fun. The Horizon games are good too.
His rant for m+k over controller makes no sense either, considering it's a console port. How many buttons do you need to jump and slice
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
But this game has great mkb conversion. Sure, had to rebind all the keys and there are so many buttons to press that wasd isn't possible. But the devs did a great job here and mkb is the superior way to play.
So, playing with japanese language and english subs, but im not getting subtiltes for casual chatter (just conversations/cutscenes) anyone found a option/fix for that?
Edit- Checked the steam forums, evidently the devs didn't think of that.
Guess I'll stick to japanese anyway, sounds better
I wanted to play a little today... 11hrs later. I love every part of it, but as soon as I started upgrading (which I delayed for a while) it's started to become a bit too easy. The combat is still more fun and rewarding than similar games. Felt a bit Tenchu'y to begin with!
The art style is really cool too, very understated and simple but amps up at times
Quote:
The studio collaborated with Japan Studio and visited Tsushima Island twice to ensure that the game was as culturally and historically authentic as possible. The team was heavily inspired by samurai cinema, particularly films directed by Akira Kurosawa, as well as the comic book series Usagi Yojimbo. The game's landscape and minimalistic art style were influenced by Shadow of the Colossus, and locations in the game were designed to be "the perfect photographer's dream".
They did a great job with this ^^^
My one major gripe is ye olde 'facing away from player' AI, conveniently set up the same way in each camp. Blind as always. It needs more randomness to it.
played some hours and its a really good game, probably has one of the best intros in a game, like serious from the moment it starts until title name appears on screen it was like a short movie, like actual goosebumps, the art style graphics its like everywhere u look it looks like a painting. combat is nice and brutal, story and characters are intriguing so far
I have a 3070 and a decade old CPU - runs great in ultra wide with DLSS. I've tried ultra settings but it got laggy on volumetric light, so I'll have to dial it down a bit

The game has ps3 graphics at times. This shouldnțt be so shocking.
Played this game on console and it was all right. Strong beginning, strong ending but everything between was kind of your typical open world filler. Characters very wooden and boring, probably by design. Excellent visual style and the combat was fun enough.
It's definitely way better than AssCreed at least.. doesn't drag on for an eternity. Whether you like it or not depends on your tolerance for the open world game formula.

the graphics is so overhyped too. it's a game with some good art direction, sure. Someone drew 5 good looking areas and they translated those really well to the game, that's it. the game overall is pretty lacking in graphical diversity, i would say. it's like 2 types of grass if lucky, maybe 4 different trees etc. but sure, they made sure these looks good.
Can't destroy a barrel, can't use objects, can't loot enemies...
This game needs those slicing mechanics / interactions from that cancelled Metal Gear game

Maybe not to that degree, but parts of the environment falling to bits as you're fighting would look unreal
And it seems odd there's no dismemberment. Sometimes animations play like someone had their arm chopped off, and apparently it's supposed to exist sometimes, but I haven't seen it yet

Normal attacks/finishers lack dismemberment effect sadly but you can cut off arms with heavenly strike technique afaik
I think I will have to play this again.... Played it on ps4 and remember getting burned out at some point . Maybe the mustard will make me reconsider
some point where? i just finished act 1 and did i think every side quest i could find in first area and im already a little burned out, u can see the repetitiveness, ill try to push story forward first more now as i already have most skills i want, the companion side quests missions are bit better, the mythic tales missions are nice, the open world is mostly empty like horizon zero dawn, big landscapes with increase draw distance with not much in between except traversal. but so far after the hype i think game is a solid 8 so far, much like horizon zero dawn

no they are not, its a combination of things that makes the game stand out. textures might not be very high quality and there might not be a big variation of vegetation but the color and how they are placed in the world, the art style its wat makes it pop

There is dismemberment, but you unlock it late game, without spoiling anything I guess when you become the "ghost" and use its style.
Good, now we need a screenshot of the immersion breaking current day/future/non-simulation setting that these retards keep pushing throughout the series
EDIT: Wrong thread

- DLAA is best AA
- Shadows and Level of detail are the most impactful settings, especially on Ultra
- Volumetric fog difference above medium is hardly noticeable
- DoF is only applied in cutscenes

Anyone else think the wind is a bit too much? It is constantly blowing. I don't mind using the hint as to which way I should go but the constant flow of wind ....
