This is a hard ask! It’s like saying “is there something that is better than a diarrhea, but worse than constipation?” I’m sure that, technically, an answer exists, but why have the discussion in the first place?

i was refering to as in same type like, not quality type. roland emmerich sure, there are many, wes anderson, nicolas refn, etc
but michael bay is pure action, favors action before story, where visual directors favor big scope like visuals before story, or tell the story through visuals first

By the way, apart from slow mo, Snyder also uses shallow focus and faded colors. That's all he does about his visuals.

You can't deny that the style of 300 was highly influential.
Isn't his visual style an amalgame of visuals and technics from Matrix and Sin City which had been produced before 300.
I'm pretty certain the makers of Spartacus tv series copied Snyder color pallette ( I never watched the show, so I'm not sure about shallow focus and slow mo) , but 'highly influential' is a bit far fetched.

I don’t have to read anything. What is the point of your appeal to authority here anyway? Even if Nolan genuinely appreciates Hack Snyder’s work, so? Does that make it somehow a universal fact that everyone should agree with?
The only Nolan opinion I care about is when he is making judgement calls on his own movies, which, at least so far, are a far cry from Snyder’s bullturds.
