Oh yeah, that too
So many games from the cursed 360 era had that visceral(tm) silly yellow/brown-ish/sepia palette, it could be found everywhere from first-person shooters to third-person to racing games. RE5, NFS Most Wanted, GTA IV, pre-Skyrim Gamebryo titles, Deus Ex HR, DiRT, Flatout UC and several other console titles.
One of the most hilarious cases was F1 2013's "classic" mode with the heavy piss which was the gaming equivalent of the Mexican movie filter and spawned the derp variant

My favorite are the games like RE2 remake that intentionally add a grey filter to the image so you don't get true blacks. Demons Souls PS5 did some similar fuckery though in that case not sure if it was a bug or not. |
This is annoying as fuck but it is easy to work around it - just crush the grey levels to black.
Quite a few horror games did this - the one genre where true blacks in a dark room matter most. Often combining the grey mess with film grain too.
For me, the three contenders for worst postprocessing are:
- Motion Blur
- Chromatic Abomination
- Vignette
Motion blur would be the worst but in 99% of games it is possible to turn it off.
So I voted for CA...it gives me eye cancer and you can't always turn it off.
Vignette is also really bad. There was a time between 2010 and 2014 where so many games had Vignette and there was no way to disable it.

"Subsurface scattering"
wat? thats not a post processing effect and actually amazing tech. should have placed vignette in there instead
anyway, obviously motion blur but I have to say all effects have their use case if used correctly and in moderation
including motion blur, which btw is a game changer if its a nice motion blur and you dont get too many FPS
what it does in cyberpunk is pretty great imho, I remember turning it on when I only got 60fps at 4k on my 3080 back in the day and it was dramatically smoother, though maybe the OLED panel helps (or rather making it worse because low framerates are more jarring on an OLED)
I still prefer real 120+ fps but when that is not available, motion blur can save the day. I do get why they love it for consoles
though vignette I always hate. and film grain and chromatic aberration I'd rather do without, even though they sometimes really make an effect or mood, ie Film grain in Silent Hill

@qqq
While I despise CA in games, not as much as DoF (dont decide how my eyes should focus or what on).
In a comic movie I can see the intent and desired reason based on fanout/print registration issues in comics. I dont agree with adding it, but at least I can see the history of why someone, even if in unneeded cross media nods, would think they would want to add it.

The funny thing about chromatic abortion is, while lens technology and design has advanced so much in the recent decade, practically correcting most perceptible distortions, you have a generation of ztards that went back to photographing with film, deliberately looking for lens defects; err, sorry … “character”. I blame video games for that shit.

Some people want the visceral experince of music, as apposed to audio fidelity being the main factor.
For example my cousin loves vinyl, because he (we) grew up watching my grandfather play his favorite music in his lounge on a record player. And the smell (old collections of records have a smell), sound, and ritual of it is part of the appeal to him.
I myself dont care. an MP3 played on my not flat toned garage shop setup is just as good to me. But to him there is a connection to it.
When it comes to music telling people "You are doing it wrong" is the most missing the mark comment you can make on such a personal and subjective artform and experince: How dare you enjoy an artform in ways other than my clearly superior approach to it.
As the saying goes: Most audiophiles dont use thier equipment to listen to your music, they use your music to listen to thier equipment.

Nothing new, same with vinyl-tards Buying vinyls that were made from digital audio and somehow made better xD |
Who are you to define what makes them feel fun? It’s their alternative fact!

There is no 'universal fact' in personal music experiences....its the epitome of subjective.
(yea yea..im ignored, doesnt mean I cannot point out his derpness of opinions)
