Riiiight

@gordonash: no, they revised some parts, but it ends where the books do.

Btw, didn't the other families land on the planet with an invasion force and they also called Paul's bluff for nuking the spice fields when they didn't accept his claim?
Those jihad forces would just get shot down the moment they leave the atmosphere too.
They made such a mess of the end Laughing leaving out the space guild was a mistake too.

This was already established in part 1.

was a bit disappointed, probably because it was overhyped and expected a little more, but much like the first film this one pretty much feels like a part 2 of one big movie rather than a standalone sequel. i think i enjoyed the slow buildup and atmosphere more from first part and the action from second part. still it is a very solid movie, the score is so damn epic. cant wait for the next one

Yes. Watched for 40mins and got the repack, I'd say it's not worth it if you are hesitating.

Liked it, if I had to rate it, I'd say around 4/5.

Maybe a bit tame, but considering the targeted rating it was well done. Would have liked some more colour and grit, but it's what it is nowadays. The slowish pace in general was fine for me and I was entertained throughout. Considering pace, I had to watch Blade Runner 2049 in three parts because I fell asleep every time, but this kept things going for me somehow.

I haven't read the book or even seen the 1984 film. Looking forward for the third part.

After spoiling myself the sequels past the 3rd book I can understand why any movie based past the fourth or even the 3rd will be unpopular choice.

It REALLY IS becoming very out of the original Dune atmosphere past the 3rd book.

I can still seeing them doing a film based on the fourth installment eventually though.

The current Dune series will probably end covering Dune Messiah or Children Of Dune and that's it, Dune Messiah by itself going to be very different than the current movie.
