Performance is great here, but again i don't use the CUDA system fallback which can degrade performance over time. Played for a few hours and didn't see any dip.

That did it! I've tried a dozen suggested magical placebo fixes that didn't do shit, but this finally had an effect. After disabling the CUDA system fallback I still get frame-rate drops when I run out of VRAM, but now the game actually recovers and performance doesn't keep regressing the longer I play.

Cheers!

Game is unplayable for me now due to crashes.

Wonder if this will help.

I've played it for 10 hours and my feelings are pretty mid. It's hard to give a fuck about some savage side quests compared to the main story. Characters are plain and uninteresting. gameplay is pretty much the same plus some quality of life improvements

Pretty much, yeah. The game is good as long as you find the combat fun. When you get bored of that, nothing keeps you going.

i feel like i already experienced the game in zero dawn and cant take another 50h of this. as beautiful as the game is its just boring af.

i dont remember aloy being this annoying in first game, in some scenes its fucking ridiculous this girl boss mentality lmao it went up to her head too much and to the writers, if in the first game it worked cuz she was an outcast that proved herself, now it dosent work anymore and it seems she has no character growth, every dialogue exchange is the same.

story is boring i dont give a fuck about the tribes, too little of the scifi stuff to be more interesting so far. combat is fucked too, while it does seem an improvement and changes are nice at first, they overcomplicated everything from the skill tree to planning of the combat now to eating for temp stats boost. is just not fun anymore compared to first game imo. its liked they copied more from the witcher 3.

still want to finish and hope story at least gets better

Bingo

It's not nearly different enough and as someone else said, the characters are dull as hell

meh, i like to mix things up for things to stay fun and varied. traps are fun, of course meant to be used in combination with the bow.

to me this is not a game that i would play for the main story, because it sucks, it's worse than in the previous game. i'd enjoy it far less if i focused on the main story than if i just did whatever i happen to run into. but sure, if you feel it's a game you just want to finish, then its quicker to just play the main story. personally i just stop playing such games (that i only very mildly enjoy, or for the most part maybe even dislike) and move on to something i really enjoy.

I'm playing with mouse/keyboard so far.. i don't enjoy the combat nearly as much as i did when using the PS5 controller i must say, i thought it would be the opposite. The haptic feedback does add a lot, but overall ergonomics/fluidity of the control was just better too. i'll have to hook up the PS5 controller i think.

Story has no mystery and any story which is basically "what you did in the first game didn't really matter, the same threat is present with some extra fluff" is just an immense eyeroll. it's laughably bad.

no idea, never finished it, i'm just saying the premise isn't exactly the mystery like in the first game, i also don't like it's just the typical rehash. i've also not seen a single person liking the story better in this game on the subreddit, everyone i've seen says its much worse.

I wouldn't say the main story is a rehash, more a direct continuation of the first. Of course, the stakes are 'higher' as otherwise there wouldn't be a game Laughing you can say that about most sequels. I think it's not badly implemented in this one. It was already implied in the ending of the first game anyway.
While the first game was mostly about the AI gone mad and your origins, this time it's more about the Zenith (not spoiling who they are for those who haven't gotten that far). I like it, I hope the game takes you into space in the final act Very Happy

Same, I'm at 10 hours in. First one got me quite hooked, this one... so far not really. It's just not interesting enough for me to want to keep exploring.

50 hours in, getting a little bored but I enjoyed it. Yeah the story is less of a mistery because you know almost everything after a couple of quests. But I'm mostly for scenery porn and visual story telling.
Personally, ending of Sea of Sand was the highest point of the game so far.

Yup, I'm around that point too, I think (just did the 3rd part of that main questline so I can finally access all blocked accesses). Gets a bit boring, at times, but there's enough to do to change things up a bit.

And yeah, Aloy is a real bitch in this one Laughing And while her 'clone' is even worse, she has the balls to complain about hèr Laughing

Sobek was a bitch with good intent but she hated people as a whole. Aloy is a clone of her so somehow genetically (it doesn't work like that but ok) she has that personality flaw. And the other one is same.

Aloy bitching is also inconsistent throughout the story. At the beginning it's omg I don't have tome for this shit to almost forgetting about world ending.
