lol 8k... I just got a 4k monitor! But sounds awesome anyway. At least I can keep bloodborne

8K.. hopefully headshot you don't really expect any game running properly in 8K except old PS4 (PS3 ? ) games/simple games... even 4K@60fps is gonna be hard with that rig...

Sony
Of course not plus I dont want to think how much an 8K TV will cost
and there is something else .. after the change in leadership at Sony... they changed its TOS (Terms of Service) for game Developers ... aka All games on Sony Platforms with suggestive Sex themes will be censored
Quite ironic when many Sony first party games had boobs and sex scenes (Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls -with a hack though-, God of war 1,2,3 and i think also the last one...)
The res is most likely to push new bluray format for 8k re-releases. And push 8k tvs. So you'll get one or two 8k games early on to show it off (knack3 and some other shit game) but it'll mostly be for new tvs and new blurays.
Youll get your 1080p60, if a dev is competent enough.
You'll even get 4k60 if a dev is competent enough.
WaldoJ is completely right though, they'll keep pushing for higher resolution shit even though no console or TV network actually supports said resolution, just to keep the consumers consuming

Absolutely. I don't understand the drive for higher resolutions either. Here in never never brexit land, 720 is still dominant on TV with a selection of 1080 channels.
Hell, SKY charge an extra £10 PM if you want HD channels. And there are no 4k channels anyway, just a selection of downloadable content.
My TV is still 1080 even though i have a PS Pro. I just don't see the point of upgrading yet.
headshot though has a 4K TV and will prolly get a 8K one (and also barely notices the difference between 30 fps and 60 fps) soooooooo 8K over framerate!
The lineup includes Sony’s first ever 8K LCD TV, the Z9G, which will cost between $12,999.99 for the 85-inch model, and a whopping $69,999.99 for the 98-inch version.
It's pretty hilarious. SSD's has been the norm for PC for the last 6 years or so. I bought the first SSD's 9 years ago and even then they weren't very expensive, rather small, sure.
8K 120FPS, that's retarded. 8K in itself is just retarded when its not even a norm for PC and current gen consoles struggle with 1080p and 60 FPS. It's bullshit.
it's like when they said the next console would be able to render games better and faster than the computer power that was used to render a CGI-movie (which used many hundreds of hi-end computers to accomplish the effects (not in real-time).
Obviously the end result wasn't anywhere near, and the next console will still be miles and miles away from being near that absolute bullshit lie.
who cares about what it's like compared to other stuff.....at the end of the day it's a console, and by the looks of it PS5 is gonna rock (and probably the anaconda xbox 2 will as well)
couldn't care less about any dick waving from the master race, and I doubt Sony or the millions who will buy them will either
Games wouldn't be better because noone would make these better games for a small crowd of elite PC users. Let's get real, the most used graphics card is still the GTX 1060 (April 2019, via Steam Charts), and over 25% of PC owners still only have a 2-core CPU. On the other hand, combined users of GTX 1070, GTX 1070 Ti, GTX 1080 Ti, RTX 2060, RTX 2070, RTX 2080, and RTX 2080 Ti, equal around 9,8% of PC gaming market. Not even 10%.
Long story short: even if PC was the only platform, games wouldn't be made for hardware enthusiasts. Powerful hardware means nothing without software and you don't invest hundreds of millions of dollars into software to sell 100k copies of it. You either scale games to work on much weaker hardare (which is what happens now - doesn't matter if it's a console or a weaker PC), or make much less ambitious games (which is what would happen if the market went the way you want it to).
I don’t agree with you... consoles also have amazing exclusives, specially from Sony that they prolly wouldn’t even develop for pc or at least polish as much.
Having the best pc wouldn’t change the fact that console dev develop games for their consoles as sellers and wouldn’t really put as much ressources for PC versions... IMO
