sure open world games often launch with performance problems but can still be GOAT (c.f. Elden Ring).
BUT this is a different kind of shit show:
- abysmal performance
- denuvo
- $70 entry fee
- microtransactions |
Exactly.
It is ok to like elements of the game, but come on... one can't blind about the rest of that shitshow...
And let's not forget special review copy different from day0.

oh i got one more
the "we are aware of performance problems on pc"-audacity...
sure , those just popped up right _after_ release, none of their elaborate test systems ever struggled with those
or (more likely) they just didn't give a fuck bc preorders

Denuvo will be the problem as well, guarantee if cracked it runs 40% better.

Multiple quests are bugged, some quests have multiple bugs that break them and there's nothing you can do.
These developers couldn't even handle some basic c&c in a game with a handful of quests.

https://www.eurogamer.net/dragons-dogma-2-mods-negate-the-need-for-microtransactions-on-pc
Quote: | If you have been following the Dragon's Dogma 2 discourse over the last few days, you will be aware of the game's paid DLC. On release, developer Capcom introduced a number of items that players could purchase with real-world money, such as the Art of Metamorphosis - Character Editor DLC, which costs £1.69.
While many of these purchasable items are also available to find within the game itself, they can be relatively rare, perhaps making the option to just outright purchase them more appealing.
However, modders have now done what they do best, and given players on PC a third option. Yes, the option of mods.
For example, if you head over to NexusMods now, you can get your hands on the Early n' Cheap Art of Metamorphosis mod. This aptly named mod adds the Art of Metamorphosis tome to the first merchant in Melve and to Philbert's in Vernworth.
Another mod is Crazy's Shop. This is basically an in-game one stop shop for items you could alternatively buy as paid DLC options. It adds x255 Elite and Explorer Camp Kit, Wakestones, Rift Cystals, Farrystones, Beetles and "more" to the shops in Vernworth.
As well as paid DLC, Dragon's Dogma 2 has also made headlines because of its performance issues. Earlier today, Capcom said it would be releasing a number of patches that it hopes will address these gripes in the near future. |

I just yanked down most of the graphics options. It does not improve FPS by a lot but it makes the experience a lot smoother (with a 2070 super).
Game looks like something out of 2017 but at least it's smooth.
It's a lot of fun. Good open world RPG's are rare, can't be to picky.

This is as much an AAA as Bethesda games are AAA, they are just priced as such.

It's a little better now.
The problem (besides the big city) is not so much your avarage FPS but it's micro stuttering in combat for instance that isn't realy noticable in the FPS counter. That has improved. The game feels a lot smoother.
Run's like any other game thb, except the main city central square where FPS drops to 40. But that was 30ish so there is an improvement.

Not in that sense, you do get an ending. But the build up to that ending is very weak and I didn't even expect things to reach a point of no return when I got the quest.

Even cracked denuvo is still working. You mean denuvo removal.
