It's clearly AA and janky, the combat kinda sucks but I'm still enjoying it. It's got a certain charm to it like those Frogwares Cthulhu games. Playing as the sheriff from Stranger Things helps.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty
Yeah, although the game leaves a lot to be desired from a technical standpoint with visuals/animations coming straight from the PS3 era and mechanics-wise with its Benny Hill-esque combat alongside the sense of consolish deja-vu, the package overall isn't a complete failure since it retains survival-horror traits (on the unguided Hard mode) and puzzle-solving sessions. The writing is..serviceable, with some interesting ideas on paper that however suffer because of the general cheapness of the experience. The o-o-omnipresent unreal stuttering completes the circle as per tradition.
Not great not terrible/10 as far as isodemos go, but if I had to spend €60 on this one I'd make an extra-quick U-turn before even reaching the Hartwood manor.
it does look good in some scenes depending on the lightning but overall package does indeed feel cheap much like those frogwares games and just pulls you out, meh. went for noir feel then felt like something from twin peaks
