Actually flat cgi composition shots and computer matte paintings are pretty great in most movies today. The 3D cgi vfx on the other hand - oh boy.

CGI has went backwards, I mean everything looks like shit now, colors are not matching at all to real actors or environments etc, its all about candy colors that "pop"... Not sure what has happened, there is movies almost 30 years old that looks better than modern shit.

look up working conditions & pay of CGI artists, I think at a certain point they just stopped giving a fuck and they have every right to.

There's lots of invisible CGI that looks amazing, but you can't tell anymore because it's just so good.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.

I think a lot of them are immigrant workers from india or remote and such, so that's not an option for most of them as that means no more visas or steady work. The scene is highly competitive and the moment u act up u get replaced.
