Will happily give it a yarr, though I didn't like how the original game proposed the trite Ubisoft-y formula without adding any extra flavours to it. At the end of the day, if you couldn't connect with the Aloyian melostory and its characters then things would get progressively tiresome to the point of exhaustion. Overall, it was a serviceable/10 experience, which to me pretty much covers most Sony games thus far.
Hopefully the second chapter will spice things up a bit gameplay-wise, still, I'm prepared for another dose of deja-doodly-doodly vu.
Yeah I mean let's not pretend this franchise has ever produced 10/10 games. Solid 7/10 in my book for the prequel. And yet I weirdly enjoyed it more than that if memory serves

a great game should have a likeable main character, and preferably a few more a person's sex doesn't really restrict that at all. it's sad if we think that because there were many movies and games in the 80-90's that had great female protagonists. this thing with writing women as totally obnoxious and unlikable started maybe 10-15 years ago. Who doesn't think Ripley in Aliens is cool, for example.
Also a decent story doesn't hurt, the story here could've been quite fun but they made it super serious (hint: the games contain robot dinosaurs)

Her face definitely looks a bit weird compared to the first game no matter what people say she doesn't look the same to me.

she looks almost completely like in the original game already. people just post troll images when she's grimacing or fake images... or the images of her they had pre-release where it seemed she was fattened up (and everyone was joking about it, making memes etc), i think they noticed it wasn't popular
i really think it's the least important aspect of a game, unless of course the character you play is absolutely hideous, but that's not really the case.
the character models in this game is quite something btw.
I never played it through on the PS5, got bored. Will happily sail the seas and try it on PC just for the graphics + combat.
I remember finishing the first main game and after completing all side missions & DLC, there was still like a third of the map I didn't even see
It's one of the better Ubi open world games, but still a lot of useless bloat in collectables.

^ most of the industry follows Far Cry 3's formula for their games (open world, activities, crafting, gathering, skill trees, enemy tagging, sonar vision, towers, etc.). Far Cry 3 back in 2012 was a commercial and critical hit, all the devs noticed and the various elements the game had were easy to implement in their games. 99% of the industry is using FC3's template to this very day. Horizon is one such game, but it follows ubisoft to such a degree that it feels like they just had a poster in the office with FC3 and ACreed broken down into their main elements and they just copied all of them. Its one of the most extreme cases of "being inspired by ubisoft"
The "if we do it, it will sell enough to make a profit"-formula. It's like those survival games that we seem to see 1 release of weekly on Steam, it's 100% the same shit, build base, kill mindless zombies or cannibals.

Port is done by Nixxes, I have some faith in them as they have a good track record porting the last 3 Tomb Raider games which had pretty good performance.
