A shame these games are designed for gamepad but require aiming.
DD1 was a game designed for gamepad, You have to use triggers to acces skills with another button, this just sucks with mbk. Also movement is better with a gamepad and it's more relaxed to play.
But aiming with gamepad is hell and terrible in DD1. Worse it's by design: Pentad shot is only there to counter the aiming problem with a gamepad. So Mkb is easymode.
Tried both control options and gamepad felt better, but it's a bad compromise.
Hope DD2 does it better and mkb is an option. Like GTA 5 and RDR2, both are designed for gamepad but MKB feels just as good. Japanese games though tend to just don't give a fuck for the MKB crowd. Like the Yakuza series.
not that it's that different in other games, but why can't someone who has a spear have some more unique attack combos that doesn't look like he's just slashing with a sword. also why not make it longer than just a normal sword, lol.. what's even the advantage. well, i guess then he can't slash it like a sword and they'd have to do proper animations
Looks very similar to how i remember, very tanky MMO style enemies? I don't like how there's no stab wounds on that chimera after stabbing it 100 times... it's freakin 2024 people we've had games from the 90s that did that.
The game is almost a remake of the first. So yeah, tanky enemies with lots of health bars.
The game looks so much like the first one that I wouldn't be suprised if they reused assets from the first.
Fine by me. Seems like they looked at the first game and just thought ok, do it again but now better.
Mystic spearhead look great imho. Like the warp ability. Probably a good alernative to ranged since that was OP in the first cause you can just aim for the weak spots instead of climb to it. Not realy a fan of ranged myself, also will be going for gamepad so not having to aim is very welcome.
In the first game you could change them at will. And you could use passives unlocked by ranking up in them regardless of vocation but not the active skills.
If I remember correctly from the first game, changing the vocations was also reinforced because different classes have different stats gains, stamina or strength and so on.
25 FPS, the retro feelz is strong with this one on the consoles
This is a problem though. It's a console game. So they are using a new unoptomised console engine, expect PC performance to be terrible. You'll gonna need a high end GPU for this end even the minority that have that are gonna be pissed cause they can't 4k it with ray tracing (if the game has that, dunno).
Stupid design decision, you don't sell these kind of games with shiny graphics, people don't care and just want a smooth game. Elden Ring's graphics are dated and monster hunter is just ugly, nobody cares. If the devs make these mistakes, is the team competent at all?
I use a 2070 super (patiently waiting for nvidia 5xxxx series). Hope there will be a demo. Not gonna buy from the steam shop so no refund available. If the game is just an upgrade of DD1 I think i'll even HD this game cause that will probably get 60FPS (haven't tunes down my resolution in 2 decades for a game), but would like to try it out first before buying.
I do wanna buy a new GPU but feels like the 4xxx is a waste of money since it's gonna be outdated in about a year
I cap fps with 95% of games I play anyway to keep fans down. Only with Cyberpunk I felt like I need an upgrade. And hogwarts, but dit not play a lot of that.
Graphics don't sell a game these days. People will be fine with a game with 5 years old tech. It's the law of dimishing returns. It's just not worth the hardware or performance drop.
That's what I don't understand with this. Games are so expensive to make. Why does a dev wanna risk it with poor performance. People will review bomb the game if it has poor performance, they want 60fps. And nobody would blame the game if it has Elden Ring kind of graphics.
There’s a Capcom Highlights digital event tomorrow and Monday. Half of day one focuses on Dragons Dogma 2. There’s rumour it will get a demo after the digital event
It's for 4k though. And it's actually 31 FPS with drops in combat to 25. In a preview build, so things can improve.
So 50-60FPS with 1440p wich is fine.
Also steam says you could 4k with a 2080TI with raytracing, but with 30fps. At least that's how I understand it.
Pawns always had funny quotes in the first game. "Wolves hunt in packs!" every damn time you see wolves. One of my favorite is when I had a "cleptomaniac" pawn or whatever the feat was called about picking loot, and when I started combat that pawn always said something like "Nevermind the beast, I will take the loot!" and walked around picking shit while I was getting rekt.
But it got boring after some time. My best decision was to remove all pawns and play solo. Game became so much better.
