The first official photo has been released from “TRON: Ares” which is currently in production in Vancouver, Canada via actor Jared Leto’s social media accounts.
The shot showcases a character design very akin to that of the baddies on the grid in “Tron: Legacy” – albeit slightly redder in color.
The actor’s strike shut down pre-production just a few weeks before it was to begin shooting in mid-August last year.
Filming finally began this year with Norwegian filmmaker Joachim Rønning (“Kon-Tiki,” “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales”) directing.
The story will reportedly focus on the emergence of Ares, a sentient program that crosses over into the human world that is not ready for contact.
Jared Leto will play the human manifestation of that program. Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Cameron Monaghan are also part of the cast.
Rønning directs from a script by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne. The new film is expected to spend more time in the real world than the digital ones of the first two movies.
Leto is a good actor. Don’t blame him for shitty roles he was offered and accepted. Watch Lord of War and Dallas Buyers Club. He is good in a small role in 2048.
Because he is portrait as an asshole. He tries to be a method actor and fails at it. He really fucked up with his Joker and the stink stuck with him.

The guy comes off as a pompous insufferable "star" through no fault other than his own That and some terrible over-the-top performances he was supremely overconfident about did that smear job !
He had a lot of good faith capital at the start of his career, it's just his constant antics that fucked his public image up.
He can act when he wants to and doesn't look at himself acting too hard, though. Requiem for a Dream, Lord of War.. All in all, he should just stick to proper movies

His acting is fine, he takes on big budget derp movies with piss poor scripts and dialog. His public image is meh but who cares. I mean his agent is making him bank, but he should take on real project because all best roles are supporting characters.
Looks good, but where is Sam Flynn and Quorra? They've escaped and that is it, no further story? I will watch it as I liked the previous one, but I'm a little disappointed.
