Makes sense to me personally. Always felt weird not owning an xbox, never have owned an xbox, had anything to do with xbox store, or such. Yet need to launch xbox app and xbox bar on PC to play MS PC games.
I Ignored it in windows for a long time a while back, not even realizing it was the MS game pass app. until a game I wanted to try was mentioned by a friends it was on the 'Xbox Store' and I went "I dont have an xbox..so that doesnt help me" and he replied "no the xbox store on windows" me: "...what? why is it called that?".
When I first saw it years ago in my start menu I assumed it had something to do with an actual Xbox like managing xbox account, or like the steam streaming app, to stream xbox games to PC so never opened it.

Also, we're releasing 4 games on other platforms... all of those you can play on a reasonably specced PC (Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Sea of Thieves and Grounded) but nevermind that I guess
IMO they pissed off both xbox fans and sony fans with all this BS by now.

But playing it on current gen nintendo consoles is miserable, always. Even fucking wind waker is 30 fps a gen after its original release.

Arkanes last couple of games were way off the mark for me, and it was the same people at the helm as Prey behind Redfall too. Not enough @StEFaN7 's willing or interested enough to buy it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Cause Starfield sold well despite being a mediocre to bad game. At the end of the day, that's all shareholders care about. I doubt Starfield being bad will even affect future sales tbh, since people are still in love with that Bethesda dick for some reason. It will take a string of failures to change that.

Yeah probably true. I haven't really followed publishers or even studios for a long time, you can't bank on the next release being good. A Valve release would interest me, maybe CDPR, maybe Larian.. but the rest you have to youtube for playability.
Maybe its damage control because they've seen what TES6 looks like at the moment and its probably the most hyped IP they have on their hands.
