The game was announced over two years ago, if they had any hope of stopping it they wouldve sued them into oblivion already.
The game is awesome.... for about 3 hours and then the grind kicks in. For instance the 2 dungeons that you have to do over and over again for resources.
This will tank hard.
But i'm not into survival games that much so perhaps this is part of the genre.
Good effort though, but the succes will kill the hype. Lucky devs though, they made a fortune.
Never been a fan of Pokemon games and this was completely unappealing to me before playing it but since it’s exploded online, I decided to take the plunge and it’s actually more fun than I was expecting
It's funny how awesome and pathetic Japan is at the same time. For such a techno country with so many people into gaming during the early 90s until now, and they cannot make anything but tactical strategy, JRPG and visual novels. With the the wealth of inspiration to be had from international games one would think it's not much of a problem, but no
Pokemon with extra shit? Not that hard to understand. Helps that survival/base-building/crafting games are popular by themselves as well and here you go.
There's also the pokemon with guns gimmick and there you go... The game works and isn't expensive.
It's not for me, but I don't think it's surprising it did well. Lots of my friends that play Ark switched to this.
@Amadeus
My friend wanted to play it, so I got it..its Ark lite without as much danger really, if you boil it down.
And lack of conclusion or great reward is the type of games I like . My favorite games are Cities Skylines, Satisfactory, Prison Architect, Planet Coaster, Factorio (without ever launching to space so the game ends), Ark (without beating the bosses so we can play survival forever), and such.
I like games that have no story, ending, end big reward, or conclusion. It's the games I enjoy the most
It's no deep survival/gather game. But figure if I can get even a week gameplay out of it for $30. That's cheaper than I can entertain myself another way for that price. A movie is nearly that and it's 2 hours.
