Frailty (2001). Can't believe this is from 2001, It feels so 80's, the lighting etc.
A must watch for sure. I have seen it before but it must have been in the early 2000's because i didn't remember the awesome twists.
Bill Paxton, Matthew McConaughey, Powers Boothe - all superb. 8/10
Tripple 9 (2016). Eh. Decent crime/thriller/action with Woody Harrelson, Aaron Paul, Norman Reedus. 6.5/10

Saltburn - 7.5/10
Finally some decent shit. Could have been better without the exposition wrap but the last scene is a masterpiece.

Death Race (2008): 7/10. Paul isn't a very good director, but the movie is entertaining.
The Abyss: 7.5/10. Finally 4K, looked fantastic, especially the end. A bit 80s cheesiness but well done.
Munich: 7.5/10. Could've done without the girlfriend bits, and then included the missing stuff from the end, but well done and told.
Tropic Thunder: 6/10. Some decent lines, well directed, but first half hour was garbage, and the rest didn't have much going on either.
PC: Yes. Console: No.

Ford vs Ferrari
Dunno why I postponed watching this movie, but at least now I saw it, and it's friggin' great.

300: 7.5/10. Very well done, looked good most of the time, some bits could've been a bit more expanded, but enjoyable.
300: Rise of an Empire: 5/10. What a disappointing sequel. +1 for Eva Green, but the rest of the movie was dull, looked cheap, and gore was too present.
Escape from New York: 7/10. Didn't have too much story going on, but great atmosphere and soundtrack. Kurt was very cool as mr Snake.
Ronin: 8/10. Apart from some tiny oddities (some crummy french car vs a nitro'd S8 ), the car chase scenes were really, really good and directed great. The romance stuff should've been cut completely, but other than that, very good.
The Truman Show: 9/10. Wanted to watch this for quite some time now, this didn't disappoint. Great soundtrack and acting.
PC: Yes. Console: No.

Shawshank Redemption 7/10 Very good 'feel good' movie regardless of prison and swearing parts. I wish we could have more movies like this. If you like this you might want to check out Secondhand Lions too.

It's a great movie but definitely not on my 'best ever' list. I can easily see why many rate it so highly but for me it was a good movie and that's about it.

I'd give Shawshank an 8/10, it's a good movie but there are many very similar movies released before it's time I think are better. Brubaker, Escape from Alcatraz, Great Escape and more.
If you like Shawshank try Return to Paradise with Vince Vaughn and Joaquin Phoenix, based on a true story and much more realistic.

Joséphine Bonaparte - 6 francs/10
Not what I expected, in a pretty awkward way with a tone that deviates from the genre's standards and offers less character development than it should. There's some stunning photography in it, great costumes and the acting is competent enough, however...the movie's shaped like a random collage that omits several important chapters of Napoleon's life for seemingly no reason whilst focusing on trivial aspects that are either made up or oddly exaggerated.
Understandably, Scott didn't want to make a documentary since it's impossible to cram everything into a 160-minute movie, still, in my opinion this attempt kind of fails as a personal work too - stuck in a limbo where criticism and objectivity are all smashed together inside one flat minestrone cooked by clumsy manchild Napolenix. Maybe an extended version with better editing and the much-needed missing scenes (if they even exist) could improve it, or maybe the movie's just forever destined to remain this strange crippled thing.
