So the formula of concurent users multiplied by 6-8 works again. A bit off, likely due to the abnormal launch. I estimated 230K copies sold, they say they had 201K. They closed the company because they had an almost 50% refund rate and zero copies sold after. They're left with 3 million but valve will probably refund more people. So even the scam failed

I dunno, if I made a game with two other people and sold enough to make 3 million AFTER it flopped and valve took 75% of that to refund everyone left that asked for one. Id say 750,000 for basically free to pay off my house, my cars, retire and live off the rest..id say my scam worked.

They had 6 million initially, but almost half refunded. But seeing people talk online about this, valve only pays you at the end of the following month. So valve would only pay them for this at the end of january. Since this is such a highway robbery, thats being posted on every website right now and all over youtube, they're probably not gonna get anything in the end

That refund ratio is the highest I've ever seen, generally it's ~5% of total sales

I have a feeling its a really good game now, once Dean left, Bohemia took it over and about 10 years too late when everyone moved onto PUBG and other games.
But yes Dean Hall has never released a game. He is an expert at hyping up a shitty alpha release, fleecing derps that buy any hyped up shit and cashing out for the next alpha.
