They don't, actually  Like i said, for 99% of games there's no such thing as double dipping. You see this online all the time, but this concept is a fabrication from more enthusiast people who think owning multiple plattforms is the norm. You have the people who enjoy everything and think all the others are too, and you have the platform warriors who think those 3 exclusives of theirs spread over 8 yrs are so amazing that surelly everyone will buy a console for them. The reality is the vast majority of people use one platform. The percentage of overlap owners between pc and consoles over delayed games is single digit for almost all. The stuff we do here, that we have a deck, a switch, a ps5 and three computers is not how the world at large works. We're in that 5% overlap.
GTA 5 on the other hand is an anomaly, so using very faulty numbers, involving trophy tracking websites where people have to activelly make accounts and log their info, they say a third of GTA 5 owners have bought the game multiple times. Its a very bad methodology and its a lot of guesswork, but lets say its true. Its still only a third being overlap. That leaves almost 70% of PC buyers being new buyers that they dont capitalize on. They're using the same way of doing things that they used 15-20 yrs ago, when a list of best selling PC games had 6 Sims games and WOW on them and Crytek, Epic and Ubisoft were saying games aren't worth getting pc releases. Today you release a game like Elden Ring, it sells 20 million in a few months and half those sales are on PC. So they're using the same strategy in this timeline like they did in the Sims timeline. It's stupid

never said its the norm, but there are enough people that owns more than just PC for it to be profitable to release it like this and get quite a few double sales i bet..
but it's probably not the sole reason, another reason is likely that it just takes extra time to make the PC version. I doubt any of us have insight enough into the company to argue for e.g hiring more people or another team to work on PC etc. we do know they've done stuff like that and with laughable results.

It's a bunch of bullshit, Rockstar of all studios can afford a dozen or more devs that do the PC features/optimization
it makes a lot of sense with special ports like Hogwarts Legacy for the Switch to be delayed, they had to redo assets and optimize the shit out of that game to make it run on the Switch - and EVEN that was "only" 9 months, not 1-2 years
but PC, XBOX and PS5? it's all x86 anyway, all different graphics APIs and OSs with their own quirks tho but somehow PC is impossible at launch eh?
It's one thing only, Rockstar still thinks PC is a secondary gaming platform
at least whatever console boomers are running the ship

Illl get it on the ps5pro then.
Mofos havent even updated gta5 on pc with raytracing. If i want RT i gotta play on my shitstation at 30fps, or no RT and 3440x1440@175. So annoying. It’s like get with the times rockshits.

Well gl to them. I'm not paying full price for a 2 year old game or whatever it will be when it comes on pc. Gonna have myself a nice free version and who knows... maybe this one will be so bad I won't even bother with that.

You mean in the hype, or the game?
If you mean in the game I think it was inevitable. Hopefully the context of it is done in the same style other subjects of the past games did, where its inclusion in the world is a mix of parody and mockery of peoples infatuation with it.

I dont see that as being a problem. They have made fun of both sides every time in the past.
Only thing I could see someone have an issue with is if someone wants/wishes for one to be made fun of and complaining they play it hoping to see it and saying it wasn't done 'enough'.

Yeah, but the last GTA was before the political madness on twitter and everywhere else online really started. RDR2 came in the midst of that, but they were probably working on it for a while and it is a western. So we'll see. Lots of companies are afraid to offend these days and it would be sad if Rockstar lost its edge.

Is someone going into it to be satiated by the mockery? Or simple to be entertained by it.
I feel anyone that would be upset/letdown/offended/(whatever) by a lack of or limited capacity of it on any angle was seeking it to be satiated by an expectation of satisfaction they did, and didn't have it done so.
Whatever it does or does not make fun of, is fine with me. I will enjoy the humor of what is there, not expect humor about a thing I want to mock along with it.
