It has been know for quite some time. Steam is selling Ultimate edition:
ULTIMATE EDITION INCLUDES:
Season Pass With Access to All Future DLCs, Including 2 Story Expansions
Additional Story-Based Side Quest
Single Player: 1 Costume Skin & 3 Weapon Skins
Multiplayer: 3 Costume Skins & 7 Weapon Skins for Multiplayer
Digital Artbook
Digital Soundtrack
A Season Pass is fine since almost any game that has 2+ DLCs planned seems to do that to save people some money. Now if it also said Battle Pass, that would be a different story as most seem to think the Multiplayer will end up like Tarkov.

They just need to lie and say it's charity for ukraine and they'd get a free pass for every money grubbing tactic they'd wish to employ
Not exactly news but don't send me to the monolith re-education centers just yet, men!
A nice breakdown of the last trailer coupled with demo opinions + recreations (somewhat) in using the first 3 games:
OK, I guess it might not be vaporware after all...

I expect this game to be like metro open world train game that i didnt play. Do some of you really think this will mechanically be like the old stalker games?
I don't know what people expected, but generally I would believe fans of a series want the sequels to hold true to the core of the game. What's the point of making a stalker game that isn't like stalker? Not like the name itself is a big enough sell to attract people outside the original fans.
How long have humpers been playing video games? sequel / remakes / reboots are typically never like the games that inspired them. I almost can't think of a single example that's not massively derped, they often don't even stick to same game genre.
Just expectation is a game like Metro - it might be a decent game too but it won't be like classic stalker games - they were nightmare productions, buggy, not console friendly etc, Metro series made the dollars.

I think it is more of a recent thing were this is happening, and especially with older franchises. But I would disagree even with that, as I don't think it is a guaranteed thing. Even this year the remakes, at least from what I've heard with RE4 and Dead Space were pretty fateful. I don't really ever play remakes so I can only go on what I've heard.
But my question is ... why make Stalker 2 if you're not going to make Stalker 2? Who is it for? Cause you're only going to anger the majority of the fans, and new buyers won't care that it is called stalker. So either make something similar or change the name.
The various raw gameplay bits from the leaked build looked rather promising (despite everything), but it's evident that there will be an attempt to merge the old world with the modern cinematic one in order to appeal to a different crowd of gamers - after all, coucholeros prefer dialogues to be presented as cutscenes over plain text and they absolutely adore automatized contextual interactions. I can live with some of that, but I genuinely hope the scripted sections won't be too invasive because high levels of exposition and handhold-y melodrama have no place in the STALKER franchise, porco blyat. We'll see, my expectations are permanently set to zero and the anti-radiation suit is always ready.
The new release date for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl was announced. The game will be released on September 5, 2024 and is available for pre-order now!
