Ok, found the answer: if the publisher did not set the new LATAM usd price before the 20th it just defaulted to us-usd.
So for games which were not abandoned we should see the proper pricing soon. Unless they change something 50% off is not bad.

Yeah, Valve said that's what would happen. It happens with any sort of price increase if the publishers don't change it manually within a time period

Yep, they really fucked over the ARpeseteros. And I'm guessing publishers that didn't set the new LATAM usd price yet don't even intend to at this point

So seems it's a bug on Steam's part. Someone on reddit said that in one game they set the price manually, for the other they left it as it is, since Steam was supposed to change it themselves. The second one is now in default usa pricing, the first has the price set by the publisher, so their automatic system didn't work.
Baldur's Gate 3 for example is set properly at $34.99
When this is fixed at average we will still have a ~50% discount, like in the beginning, when ARS wasn't a trash currency.

Valve/Steam has asked publishers for the reduced prices. If publishers do not set those prices manually Valve/Steam will set 'default prices' instead. Quite bad situation for the people living in those countries. Good luck with keeping them away from piracy. :/

The thing is the default prices were supposed to follow Steams suggestions for the region, but instead they defaulted to u.s prices.

My mastercard was denied (unknown error)
If I buy Gift card I have no idea how much for example 100TL will have value in dollars.

Keys are still better.Right now at the place I buy them they go for 1.71 usd, and you can get 1.9-2.0 usd after the valve tax on the marketplace.

Ive been buying keys on steam with a second account and traded them over, a lot of loss but was still worth it most of the time, now i will probably just get USD codes.

Back when i checked on places to buy keys pretty much every seller for them required you to have x amount of trades via the platform or x karma etc so i lost interest in it.

Nowadays you just need an unlimited Steam account (5 usd spent), at least on the site I'm talking about. Delivery is handled by a bot.

Remember they can hold your order for up to 24hrs to check for fraud. Max for me was 5hrs, but it can vary.
There are other sites but I like this one.
Right now key is for 1.71 usd, and you can get around 2 usd on the marketplace for it.

Used marketplace.tf yesterday for the first time. It took an hour to receive my keys. Cheaper than my keys dealer. Thanks for sharing!
So what's everyone's take on new Turkish/Argentinian region prices? Some games are cheaper but not much, I guess most devs haven't reviewed the prices. Are you planning to switch region to India or something if it's even possible?

Ukraine and India are hit or miss at some games. Hopefully old arses will get some love from the publishers though it seems to be extremely unlikely.

Unless it's below a AAA title or under $10, it's better to just buy a game key directly instead of buying in a different region. I am sure people still want to cling on it, but it's dead, time to move on. Staying in ARG purely for the super cheap stuff

Eh, it just went back to how it was in the past.I started in pajeetland, and the best you could hope for was 50% off, like now. Of course last years were wonderful in Argentina, but even now it's not terrible. Still better than paying full price, that's for sure.
