From Moon Studios, the award-winning developers of Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps comes No Rest for the Wicked, a visceral, precision Action RPG set to reinvent the genre.
Wasn't expecting the game to go the Soulslike route but with such strong art direction and fluidity it definitely could work (on paper). If anything, the deja-vu effect that's plaguing the sub-genre and has been keeping me away from it ever since I finished the Elden Ring master beast is absent here.
We abandoned the old point&click model to move your character around. We wanted the players to have ultimate control for their character. Every movement you make should feel tactile and intentional. For that reason we decided Wicked to be played using WSAD or controller
That IGN video above starts with the studio head saying that No Rest for the Wicked is his dream project, his dream game that he's been dreaming about for 20 years, that he always wanted to play. Then immediately after, the other dev says:

What we're trying to do is create our own mix ... so we would look at any particular genre and we would take the elements from the genre that we're excited about; we put it all together into one game and then we iterate on it. So we might take combat inspiration from the Souls series, or Monster Hunter. Also fighting games and etc etc etc.
so it's not a dream game then. It's not anything at all, if you're just looking at whatever came out in the last few years and rip whatever you like from them, then it's simply a mercenary project. To make money. You didn't even had a fucking plan, you winged it as you went
