why would it have a different score than the console version? the only difference is if its not a good port and playing better or not with m and k

I barely know what the game is about but the review sounds fair - empty world with nothing worth exploring, uninteresting story, bad shooting and generic "stealth", boring characters, only few memorable moments. Maybe the only kind of dumb point the reviewer says is "there is no humour". Better no jokes at all than the usual cringe shit such as "RiP Rippers, hahaha, guys, you see what I did there, hahaha, come on guys, this is funny, guys?..."
PS: Wait, actually thinking about it, the only stuff this guy liked in the game was the melee combat, one mission where you have to escape and the graphics at times.

I don't *love* this game, but it's not a 63, no fucking way.
they gave State of Decay 2 a 74 and that game is way worse in every way I can think of

Is it the same guy who gave SoD2 74? Different reviewers have different opinions. It's not like "PC gamer" thinks a game is good or bad, it's the specific reviewer that does.

I'd give the game around 80%. I would have given it another 5% if Deacon didn't spend half his time grunting and muttering nonsense under his breath. It gets a bit monotonous.
There's some nice features in the game (drawn out horde encounters) and some awful ones (marksmen who never miss a shot when you're on your bike). The scenic graphics are amongst some of the best along with the subtle weather effects. I'd also say the game is a few hours too long.
