In Ke1N's, at around 1m25, when there's some sandy body, the perf just drop.
In DeliciousVietSoup08 30 Jun 2023's one, same deal (now around 3m30), now barely better.
Am I crazy to think that during those almost 2 years:
A) Hardware involved was upped
B) Engine & what-no optimizations took place
?
This seems like a sweet, atmospheric game that might be killed in utero by it's terrible on-release performances, no matter the hardware used.
I have zero knowledge of engines and whatever, but is it just me, or is it just a bad choice overall?

No idea what it's about, but looks more like an Amnesia+Bioshock type of deal?
EDIT: fuck me, failed to see there was a second page to this thread. #blind&stupid
Anyone cares to describe their experience in that demo? Even if super short?
Thanks!

Looks good, the story is... there, has all the specific UE stuttering you can desire, got some decent dialogue and a FOV that will make you puke yesterday's lunch.
I think I'm not that far from the end. Yeah, it's a slow burner, there are (optional) scenes that go on for 10 minutes or longer of just NPCs talking
But it's still... different than Fort Solis. Atmosphere, story, voice acting, it's all pretty well done. The story is intriguing enough for me to continue. So I like it, but I like this kind of sci fi too.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
finished, guess it was just fine....but i expected more frankly. just too much talking sometimes and boring sections makes a boring game, cuz it does have good stuff but then meh stuff, so pacing is off.
I finished it. The story and voice acting are quite good. I think many of the negative reviews were quite disingenuous.
It plays a lot like Firewatch, but longer and I enjoyed it for what it is. The gameplay is not very complex, nor interactive enough. But I didn't find this to be too much of a problem. However, the game lacks some mandatory qol features like multiple saves and more importantly, queued dialogues.
I encountered quite a few annoying bugs and the visuals seem a bit tuned compared to the demo/presentation videos.
I think this is the one they are making a movie for, which again beckons the idea of why make a game in the first place. Surely its cheaper to just do a movie?
