Read The Wheel of Time, it's a good series. But theres sometimes a bit too much female superiority going on. Regardless I've read 11 books out of 13 since november last year - I don't have a lot of time for reading, but it's an enthralling series.

I started reading it a few month ago. It seems promising.

I like the fact that I know there is an actual end to the books and that there is still so much to read until I reach it.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Didn't the writer of WoT die resulting in another writer ending the series? I doubt that did the series good. I don't like to start something that will end bad.

From what I read, the one who finished it wasnt that bad, so it should be fine. (At least I hope it is.)

im at book 10 right now. What i heard was that robert jordan's last books were in a decline, but the series ended very strong with another writer taking over with jordan's own notes to use.

Anyone read the giver, going to start it tonight.

Movie looks pretty stupid, but the book was on sale so I figured why not.

*edit*

Just started it off, still in the early chapters but so far I'm liking it Smile

Haven't gotten very far into it, only the first few chapters but so far I'm digging it, I'm a very slow ready so it'll take me a while even though it's a very short book.

Any book about Asian history you guys can recommend? I'm not looking for anything pre-historic or very modern.

The writers that wrote the Deathgate Cycle are also the writers of Dragonlance
