there are scene releases for the patches and its easy to install for the emulators. If it's actual switch i have no idea, but should be as easy.

I don't know what PSA is, but i see in this post that latest 1.2.1 should be possible to use when using emulator

breaks stuff in terms of emulation? i'm reading some threads, mostly seeing people complaining they can't use glitches like before the patch, but also someone saying that the master sword is bugged.

Mods mainly

If the new version works with everything, that's great, but every time an update comes out people yammer 'Don't update!' and so I don't. The whole world works, no issues with mods, just leaving well enough alone so that I don't mess with the 200hr+ save

That's what I meant. Nothing to gain really but everything (i.e
Many mods) to lose

Totk modding seems to be dead anyhow nowadays which is why many of the mods never got updated to 1.21

Oh one more thing. Maxlastbreath created a mod manager for Totk. It's basically your go-to AIO solution

I would be really surprised if Nintendo actually uses it all they are not to keen on 3rd party middle ware especially critical stuff like DRM which they will definitely want to keep in house not to mention as usual for the old guard they don't really like to work with non Japanese company's.

I think this was mostly aimed at multi platform releases to make it less likely people just emulate it if the PC version is not cracked but even that might not happen since it must seem like a waste of money to even the most delusional publishers out there.

As for Switch 2 emulation it will be many years till that matters and Irdeto will not see a cent until then, also this one was specifically for switch and not switch 2 and i highly doubt they got access to switch 2 development kits that's for game developers only.

I would still wait for at least this to be merged (can also build locally of course)

if I remember correctly while dabbling with it long ago to play rdr, saves do work but no save state feature. Meaning u have to save in game like a console.
gfx options are through one of the F buttons but don't expect much and u have to apply patches via files and txt edits.

I am trying to play TotK but it runs at average 19 fps on Ryujinx ... And Yuzu just stays in eternal "Launching" screen. As far as I understand my poor old GTX1070, i5-6600k, 16 GB ram and nvme ssd should be good enough for 30 fps. Is there some way to make it run better on Ryujinx? There's barely any options in it.

PS: Read that Yuzu needs TotK update 1.1, but am not sure if I have it. Might try some other trnt.

Your gpu should be enough for 30fps for sure, I'm running 1070ti and 30fps is solid. Surely is not strong enough for 60fps. It should not require update, maybe your firmware keys setup is not ok, or yuzu version is old?

Make sure to get latest EA build from pineappleEA/pineapple-src (github)

https://github.com/Abd-007/Switch-Emulators-Guide - this guide is quite good, used it to setup both emulators

you might want to get some mods

demde and pho08, thanks guys! So Much Win

I checked some mods but looked like the TotK Optimizer has them for easier use. At first tried it on Ryujinx with medium and game was running at 8 fps and after few minutes crashes.

Then got the latest Pineapple release (is that another name for Yuzu or a branch?) and copied the "user" folder from the older Yuzu version I had included in the TotK torrent. That old version couldn't load the game somehow but newest one works perfectly. Frames are around 40 now but shuttering to 25 at times. Still much better than before and enough to play. Locking the fps to 30 and using the optimized fog doesn't seem to stop it so will try some tweaks later if it's possible to make it smoother.

That one just scans for changes in the main branch of yuzu emu github and makes the binaries, since official ea builds require subscription.

Looking at changelogs, it seems the mainline gets the updates the EA branch has gotten like 3-4 days afterwards at most - much less extra time is required compared to the Windows/Linux releases.
https://github.com/yuzu-emu/yuzu-android/releases will be the regular place to look out for then, unless you really cannot wait for EA versions Very Happy
