with huge backlog i am not in a hurry to (finally) play this
so what i am wondering is if the graphics (with RT and everything) are worth it to wait for a new gpu purchase down the line?
currently running a 3070 so i suppose i would play this sth like 1440p w DLSS but definitely w/o RT to get somewhat acceptable framerates.
bottom line: is RT really such a big deal here?
It makes a pretty big difference and a 3070 can play the game with normal/ultra RT just fine, path tracing is currently not really worth using for more then a few sexy screenshots in my opinion way too many issues. So you don't really need to wait at all and can play the game with RT on hell even a 3050 can play the game with rt with acceptable framerates now.

weird but seems you're right, ty for the heads up. watched a couple of youtubes and they were getting subpar 30fps-ish

however the above image is on a 7950 cpu
I mean you can do a few minor tweaks with no noticeable difference and even balanced DLSS looks good enough in this game since it was designed around upscaling and gain 10-20 fps+ so there is definitely room for improvement over these benchmarks.

Ugh, I dunno about that. In my experience the game looks much better with just no dlss, even though you have to give up rt. Even on quality it is kind of shit.

I don't see how that's even possible game is notorious for it's terrible TAA and DLSS is a pretty big improvement especially if you configure it correctly.

Just looks better to me, like much better compared to balanced, but even Quality I will argue looks worse then native. If I just go native with DLAA enabled its not even a comparison and I would much rather have the DLAA quality improvement over RT. It also isn't as taxing as RT.
After extensive testing, I have settled for settings for the DLC.
The Path Tracing option simply has too much ghosting, even with reconstruction. And after a while it becomes really annoying.
But patch 2.0 brought a hell of a lot of CPU optimization. Whereas before in dense areas my 5800x3d would be utilized only about 50%, it now uses 80%. I am now getting very nice and high frames without frame generation gimmick on my 4090 on everything max, RT psycho (but no path tracing).
And that is how I will play it. Overall better, and lighter on temps as well.
Has cdkeys.com ever had stock of this? It's listed on their site, but you can't purchase/preorder.
Just use VPN and buy from GOG in Maldovia or something.
That still works? Not for this specifically, there's quite a few games that I want on GoG too (underrail + expansion, both atom games, wasteland 2-3, Risen 1-3 and Gothic 1-2) but always paying the lowest possible price

I think it does. I did it way back with the original CP2077 over Russia. Paid like 25€ for the game at launch, and even though I never played it that much, I felt that price was at least fair. Also did it for a few other games later on, like when Deus Ex or similar is on sale. Got DX:MD for like 2€. I have no problem pirating, but for so little money it's not worth the effort chasing down the latest or best release.
You can even use your normal account, it just depends on the currency you add the item to the cart and check out.
Now obviously you shouldn't (and possibly even can't?) use Russia, but there are other regions like Turkey or Moldova who are still ~50% cheaper than EUR.

Well, that benchmark is fucking useless.
Tried the corpo start and as soon as I got to the bar the framerate went to shit.
Guess I need to knock down RT to low or even turn it off completely (3070 here, 1200p) and then next year play this again with everything maxed out on my 5090 TITAN

What do you like about the new trees? The old one had really good things to aim for, this one seems to be a little bit more... flat
Tree structure/shape aside, I find the offered skills themselves to be much more interesting and appealing than the old ones. But of course this is coming from someone who won't start a new game, I just reset all my earned attribute points and perks and went a whole different way with the specializations compared to my original playthrough.
Fair enough, just seems like you have to unlock a lot to get anything decent (or to earn something worthy in many little increments). Maybe that's better in the long run
Bought it on GOG but i really can't figure out how to download it. Cyberpunk menu has a big button "DOWNLOAD NOW!" then you click it and it's like "lol.. no i can tell you're running the game and then you can't do that, you must use the client" (why the hell add it like a button if you cant use it??) it's not in Owned Games (its not a game, it's a DLC), can't find it if i go to Cyberpunk either, "DLC" is empty.
Edit: restarted GOG, seems like its updating CP now. lol.. fucking tards, why not have that in-game button explain it instead of saying "no, you're running the game you must use the client." no shit i'm running the game, the button you've added in the game can't exactly be clicked otherwise

Scratch what I said for the DLC exclusive area lol even regular old RT runs like crap on 3xxx cards you kinda need framegen to make it playable, dunno a high end CPU probably as well.
Seriously it's astonishing how much worse Dogtown runs then main game areas, i kinda wonder how it's playable on consoles at all.
- In case you fixed it, nevermind my post, didnt check previous pages for comments -
Here is the same place you were talking about, something is clearly wrong on your end, be it drivers, dlss swapper or whatnot (which i'm not using btw). Weapon is different cause of alt+f1 to take screenshot in shadowplay and switched weapons in between. Also had to turn off HDR to take the shots since imgur doesnt support JXR, so colors might be a bit off.
Can clearly see the clarity improvement in faces and general image.
Also ignore my power usage, i'm running my 4090 at 70% power usage since from what i checked it loses only around 3% perf vs 100% so i like the lower temps / power usage. Also got my 12700f limited to 65w due to temps since im on stock cooling and cba replacing for now.
All maxed out, Pathtracing on (obviously), DLSS FG, DLSS Quality, All game processing on (chromatic / motion blur / grain - but i tried without as well and same result ).
