‘John Wick’ TV Series ‘The Continental’ On Track To Air Following 4th Movie In Late 2021 – TCA
The Starz John Wick TV series The Continental is still on track to premiere sometime following the fourth movie, which is dated for May 21, 2021.
“I had a meeting on a season pitch for this yesterday. We like the group of writers, and we’re trying to get it in the right place so it doesn’t interfere with the motion picture. It will air sometime after the fourth movie,” said Starz President and CEO Jeffrey Hirsch today at TCA.
Back at summer’s TCA, Hirsch revealed that the series would explore the origin story of the hotel which serves as a refuge for assassins in the movies.
The series was picked up by the Lionsgate-backed broadcaster in January 2018, and comes from Lionsgate TV. It’s being written by Chris Collins who serves as showrunner. Other members of the team behind the film franchise that executive produce include Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk, Chad Stahelski, John Wick franchise screenwriter Derek Kolstad, along with Collins and David Leitch. Stahelski will direct the premiere episode.
John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum was a big cornerstone to Lionsgate’s 2019 domestic box office success earning north of $171M and $326.7M WW.
They couldn't afford Ian McShane and couldn't time travel for Lance Reddick, so ... "1970s New York" and as a second-order fan service, let's put a Matrix reference for good measure
Yes, but there Keanu said it, so it was a quote unquote "cool" fan service. It's still retarded, but whatever. Here, what the fuck is the point of keeping it in?

This was in production long before Lance Reddick died, tho
I was half-serious. But clearly this is not the story ... err sorry, "event" ... people want to see. People want to watch Keanu go somewhere to woah and kick ass. And he's all out of woahs. Not this young Winston nonsense, that lo and behold, he also can kick ass John Wick style *wink* *wink* and he drives a muscle car *wink* *wink*. Wouldn't be surprised if he met a tall but slender young African boy that has a pronounced African accent who helps him kick ass, and cool young Winston saves his ass, so African boy swears to always serve Winston at the end! Such an unexpected turn of events!111
Yeah, Winston being more Wick than Wick, is cringy.
And do we really need all these spinoffs?
It's Star Wars all over again. Every little character will get their own movie or series.
We don’t need them; shitty retarded media conglomerates need them to pad their shitty streaming services content offering, so that people get tempted to subscribe and then forget about the subscription for as long as possible. And since almost everyone in these shitholes are completely creatively bankrupt, they can’t and/or won’t come up with new ideas for shows, so they rape any existing intellectual property they have to fit their retarded agendas. It’s telling when the most creative streaming content is coming from Apple of all companies. You can like the content or dislike it, but at least they have variety that isn’t seen elsewhere. It’s not because they are the most creative, but because they have no choice; they don’t have big mainstream franchises they can rape. They are where HBO used to be 15-20 years ago.
Gee I wonder what this review could reveal?!? A series developed from movie about a man ballet dancing around the screen unrealistically shooting people.
*Phew I think Keanu finally admitted hate this movie series and has stopped making them.
I haven’t watched the last one yet, but 3 was really boring. 2 was the peak. With 3, it felt to me they has to raise the stakes but had no idea what to do or or how to deescalate the story at the end. And the action was boring too, too choreographered.
In a new interview with Collider, producer Basil Iwanyk revealed that the film’s star Keanu Reeves was so tired at the end of filming the fourth film he wanted to make sure Wick was definitively killed off. Iwanyk complied… mostly:
“After the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th movie, making these films is so exhausting and it destroys Keanu, physically and emotionally. By the end, he’s always like, ‘I can’t do this again,’ and we agree with him. The guy is just a shell of himself because he just goes off and goes for it. He was like, ‘I wanna be definitively killed at the end of this movie.’ We were like, ‘You know, we’ll leave a 10% little opening.'”
In fact Iwanyk, out promoting “The Continental,” said Reeves and director Chad Stahelski are already considering Chapter 5:
“The way I describe it is that they’re like Paul McCartney and John Lennon, and I’m Ringo. They’ll call me and let me know, ‘All right, we’re showing up. Here’s where you show up, and here’s what our story is.’ We all want another John Wick. We don’t know what it looks like and when it will happen, but we love each other and we love this world.”
The franchise has become so ridiculously goofy and anime-like that no one would even question a 5th chapter starring Keanu, stranger Deus Ex Whoachina things have happened
