A goddess when compared to the fat black qweens and psycho asian grannies
Wonder if NPC beautification mods will be kicked from the nexus due to "muh bodyshaming, muh ageism".

It's partially our fault, you know? Always complained about the "huge" bethesda cities with "tons" of NPC's, and now they finally implemented those. Guess one should be careful what <insert pronoun> wishes for

not sure how they don't learn either, modders had to do the same for Skyrim (not sure about FO4 and FO76).
It's not like it has any kind of advantage for them, people will complain about performance - that's not exactly a selling point this is the 3D modeller(s) not giving a crap at all about the game, the company or the people playing the game. that's the vibe i get overall, same with the people responsible for level design - just copy/pasting shit, they don't give a crap.
Sounds like a company with many unhappy employees.
they will rely on sales after launch as well having mostly positive on steam for example is not good for a game, especially if it very easily could score better and they are at risk to go as low as mostly negative.. no one in their right mind could think its a good strategy. CP2077 sold too btw... so did NMS..
If Bethesda doesn't steer up their shit they will absolutely lose both fans and buyers and trust. That's why CDPR cares, same for Hello Games.

if you read, its not just the sandwiches. but when 1 sandwich is as demanding as one entire game level then yes you have a problem, at least for cards which aren't the latest..
i dont think the polygon count is going to be affecting the frame rate here to any significant degree
maybe if you spawn 100 sandwiches
it might not if there are just a few props in the scene. But this is a game where everywhere you go is completely cluttered with 3D objects thrown around everywhere in great numbers. I am certain a mod that optimizes the meshes WILL result in easily perceivable performance lift.

i just don't think this is where the problem with the performance lies
i mean, maybe for a 1070, but that is already far under the compute/shader budget anyway

Bro, is it your first bethesda game? They're known for the absurd amounts of clutter and detail on the worlds they create, with tons on individual objects. If the sandwhich has an absurd number of triangles, a simple square box an even more ridiculous amount, just multiply tons of those, add multiples of all the other objects and NPC's and voila.
Or, more adequately, KABOOM

And there's like a ton more clutter in this game than previous games, to the point that it's kinda annoying as it made those magazine stat upgrades or even just regular loot harder to spot.
Like there's so much clutter in a room that I wouldn't bother looking through it for loot because it was tiresome. Same with the digipick minigame. Fun at first but at higher levels it's just a pointless time waster with no reward.

yes, surely my first bethesda game
don't worry, i am capable of basic math, even still i don't think its the polygon count of clutter that is driving poor frame rates.
can't imagine the 4090 is struggling here with clutter? i find it unlikely even a 2070 will be hitting anywhere near its polygon budget. you might recover ~5 fps in certain situations, but as far as optimizations go, this one is not a gotcha.
You can spawn quite a lot of NPCs, objects etc and you have to add MANY before the game collapses under the weight of itself
I don't think that's the culprit either, but I bet the real culprit is likely something just as dumb. I mean, they're still finding dumb shit in Skyrim/FO4 after all these years, eg:

i agree it's something dumb bethesda tradition
hell i'm sure there's some whoppers in clutter.. but i can't get on the bandwagon that polygon counts are too high in general
