I think they move everyone back to the country they signed up with. My Steam account is more online in our eastern neighbor but got moved to own country 2 months ago. Only used PC.
PC: Yes. Console: No.

what about peolle who really moved to another country. that feature isnt there for nothing i guess. Maybe they look for several factors like country of origin of the cc/debit card and/or country of your login and act accordingly.

For now i am still on ARS but even if i was moved back Keystores lately have similar and sometimes even cheaper prices.

It might be something to do with people who moved counties often or moved in last year or so.
I only moved once in India like 5+ years ago, and I'm still ok (hopefully will stay that way). At least in my case if i have to go back to eu prices they will lose more since I will buy way way less overall.

I just tried a couple of times out of curiosity but both the attempts bounced back (with the classic yellow error), I'm guessing it's probably due to some sort of blacklisting in place that prevents to re-switch.
Meanwhile, during these three months I bought zero games and trimmed my wishlist by 70%  |

I am sure there are reasons for it but have you looked into acquiring a Steam account set up for the country you are looking to purchase from and family share it back with your main account?
I've got an account for Turkey and another for Arg that I share back with my main account. The only downside is if they disable family share on a game post launch (happened to me with both Fallguys and V Rising) you lose your progress. If its FS disabled at launch I'll just switch accounts and play on that regions account

anyone else their steam capped to a miserable 1.2 megabyte a sec download speed today ???
i can download an amd driver at 25 meg a sec , and so did steam just a week ago, just today, capped no matter what country i select in the download region
nevermind, my ISP is doing traffic shaping and has CAPPED ALL DOWNLOADERS steam epic, battlenet to 10mbit ... WITHOUT ANY NOTICE

And I bought some stuff with CC like a week ago.
I tried to move to Argentina, didn't work, then Turkey and Ukraine. All same error message. Today I tried a real Turkish card (no virtual one from N26) and it also failed. Maybe I'll try to move to our eastern neighbor and wait another 3 months
