Sigh, I went into the rabbit hole of Steam Deck videos after watching one by accident since it was recommended on YouTube for me...
Needless to say, a Steam Deck was ordered today.
Haha, same thing happened to me. At first I wanted to see whats the fuss with rog ally, then how it compares to the steam deck, then which one is better, and before I knew it I ended up ordering the steam deck.
I dont even play indie games much, dont know what Im gonna do with it ) Probably lots of emulation and pc platformers. We’ll see. Cant wait !
So the Deck is on sale right now. I THINK the duration is for the Summer Sale time frame but not 100% sure. Anyone know for certain? I'd like to ponder the purchase a bit longer

Not really Stack Deck, but I got Backbone for my new S23+, It's very nice using for Steam remoteplay or switch emulation on android which is enough for me.
I rather use my PC for gaming and stream gaming for my device then to buy dedicate hardware save for Smartphone of course.
probably in the minority here but i dont like the concept of the deck, playing these big games on a small device with small display is like watching a movie on your phone. u can argue that u can play smaller titles but then whats the point, better play on the phone than having another useless expensive device
i had the psp in the past, i enjoyed it but many of them were games game with the smaller display in mind
It depends, that's why I guess lots of handheld games tend to be simpler.
Honestly , basic smartphone at this point can emulate nicely old gen consolss and stream games that's why I prefer smartphone over deck cuz it's "simpler" hardware and more mobile, despite the fact that on my case I got relatively expensive smartphone.
If playing intensive games will give you ridiculously short battery life, thus keeping you playing simple games that can run on a potato phone. Why not just use a phone? or stream from PC?

This is small, very cheap and fits in your pocket:

i already play the big games on big screen on main PC ... i dont need to play them on deck ... deck has been a blessing to actually finally go through the genres i love but rarely launch on big screen and no mobile and all mobile attachemnt pads are utter crap, why would i ruin the experience that way
- Console pad yes.
- Steam remote play Is pretty good, I think I clocked nier automata via remote play.
- Sometimes sitting at a desk is uncomfortable.
- Remote play and steam deck solve this problem.
- Steam deck works much better for travel, or you can have an expensive laptop.
- Steam deck price and performance is excellent, much better than capable laptop.
