The amount of time it takes to create the shader cache is out of this fucking world.
10 minutes in and only ~30%... Wasn't this derpoola shit supposed to be fixed by now?!

I was too curious and decided to test the freshly updated isodemo on my poor potato for shits and giggles. It..runs (I suppose you can say that), albeit at a pseudo-cinematic framerate on Medium details/1080p/FSR with traversal stuttering due to the risible VRAM available. That didn't stop me from finishing it though, just like in the 90s
While the story itself is rather ordinary and often melodramatic for the sake of it, the remarkable attention to detail throughout the game and the believable characters with their flaws and charming traits made it worthwhile till the end. The constant interactions between the two protagonists felt genuine and never annoying, one can tell it's a product created before the industry became Resetera Z's extension cord.
As for the gameplay, with such heavily directed action games I always hear a sad trombone playing in the background that accompanies both the hand-holding and simplistic level design where everything is engineered to be ultra-visceral™, making for an awkward hybrid experience. Despite the popamole-isms and bland puzzles, however, the gory shooting works reasonably well and the lite panthering is serviceable enough to provide some diversion as long as the silly psychic sense remains disabled all the time.
Leaving aside for a moment the dire state the port was released and the various sins gameplay-wise coming from the church of the Low Couch, it was a competent ~7/10 action adventure in my cinematic book. It would have been more impressive ten years ago because of the novelty factor, but still far from the inflated Metacordyceps. I'll snag Part II too when it releases, even though I already know the gist of it from all the memes and I don't really look forward to roiding up

Finally finished it on PC. After all those fixes game wasnt too bad technically.
But still an amazing ride, forgot how much stuff there was in the game.
Hopefully we will get part 2 eventually as I did not finish it on PS4. Got half way thru.
