That's the problem with this game imho. Bethesda never made a truly good game but they were innovatie with their world building, often with benchmark graphics. So their (poorish, imho) games sold and they have a reputation as an AAA dev.
Now they try to be innovative with a "universe".
That's not gonna work in 2023. People have seen it all and the revolution in games graphics is over, graphics alone will not sell a game. Also previous Bethesda games, skyrim was the last in that aspect, were grounbreaking and people though how is this even possible before release. Nothing like that in Starfiel obviously.
So your left with a poor game with an open "universe". This is gonna fail.

its not gonna fail, none of their open world games has failed so far.
imagine what a fantastic star wars open world game this will be eventually (and/or Aliens, BSG, Star Trek) way better than anything official.

Foreseeable problems with this game, just like Skyderp and Fallouts*: NO CHALLENGE® + YOU CAN'T FAIL® + PREDICTABLE®
Not necessary a BAD thing, for WHEN you are tired after work and just want to enjoy yourself in a... relaxing manner(!). But taking away completely any form of real adversity... in the long term, makes you a dumb fuck sheep. And it's also boring. Just like... you know... previous games. 
Hope they got heavily inspired by RDR2, where, you can log in, walk 1 minute into the wilderness and have an encounter / event that might be so rare that you could miss it in other playthroughs.

If difficulty is low it can always be modded, though i don't play these games for Dark Souls gameplay, they're best as "make your own adventure" types of games, and preferably very heavily modded. Not sure i think it's something that would make you dumb but you do need to have some imagination and you do need to like actual roleplaying (not just the leveling part), otherwise i'm not sure their games are that fun.
The boring part with games like this is that once we start getting actual AI (Chat GPT-like) for followers/NPC's these games are going to feel so hopelessly obsolete and boring, and i think we are going to see such games soon'ish. Hopefully it can be modded in though and with decent result (e.g no latency of several seconds after speaking to a NPC because that will be tedious).

have they shown clouds, i haven't looked that closely at the trailers. big thing in games like NMS and now even in the latest Horizon.. well, big as in a cool graphical feature, for NMS its something they've updated constantly it feels like and for Horizon they made a substantial update recently for it.

'Everything above' meaning what? Mods? DLCs? Leaderboards? ALL reserved only for those that meet the HIGH / Recommended System Requirements?!
NO ONE, in the history of videogames separated it's player base via low / high (minimal / recommended) system requirements. First ones are offline and the latter are online...

Until some form of always online is confirmed, that internet connection shit is likely due to the (optional) abortion that is the creation club.
