I'm obviously over re-inventing these classic franchises (i don't care too much about this movie). I do like that with this is flat out Harrison Ford, no passing the torch to chris pine whatever crap -> he's is old (well at least for part of it) and that's fine. They don't even necessarily have to do the de-aging, you know it is okay to have old characters and not every old person has to do the "too old for this shit" trope.
Jack Nicholson, Sean Connery, Richard Gere, Clint Eastward, Michael Caine, Robert Redford also arguably Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro continued making excellent movies into Harrison Ford and later age.
Should have called it 'Geriatric Jones and the Coffin of Doom'

it's like fan fiction, a tie-in video game, or a branded theme-park ride, in that it's content to tick off everything you've seen in other Indiana Jones films already, but with little of Spielberg's sparkle.
it does all this in an even gloomier fashion than The Force Awakens did. I'm not sure how many fans want to see Indiana Jones as a broken, helpless old man who cowers in the corner while his patronising goddaughter takes the lead, but that's what we're given, and it's as bleak as it sounds.

Not a big movie person, but this makes it slightly more appealing to maybe watch than less.
It's been 15 years timeline wise, he had a good run of movies pass it to someone else. If that person is a man or woman? Dont care..just dont drag it out where eventually he ends up be 90 and still spry and agile as ever.
What is way less enjoyable for me is characters shrugging off that time has passed and they are still just as able and capable as they was.
Just like the batman cartoon where he is slower, aged, and needs to use a gun to scare off a guy and realizes he needs to pass the baton. That was WAY better than doing it with a "I can still do it as good as 20 years ago,I just want to stop doing it".

I completely disagree, if there was anything salvageable from the previous disaster of a movie it was an excellent Harrison Ford's performance as Indy and Indy doing what Indy usually does and that we expect from him. Sadly, that still wasn't enough to prevent the trainwreck.
If the new movie can't even provide that then I'm afraid it will be dead on arrival (for me at least).

Feel it will be dead either way, at least compared to the level of expectation makers have for it. That cow has been milked dry. Let 80 year old Ford move on. At this point it's like a old circus elephant sadly doing its famous tricks for the audience. Because the circus owners know it's got a few good money making tours left in it.

When you can't leave a dead horse alone
I really thought they had their fill with Crystal Skull.. wasn't it enough ? Had to dig deeper ? Jesus
Wish Ford had said no to both the new SW trilogy and this, but what can you do..
Cash in the bank, if not him they will just make some garbage. The only classic IP untouched left to derp up is back to the future, which is probably coming.
