anyway, what media do you use for burning DVDs... i guessi have to go back to maxell which was very good to me...

although even though the maxell ones were rated for 16X, i could only go up to 12X

I've never had a problem with my RIDATA DVD+RWs so i continue to buy them. Other than that I think I've only used Memorex and Verbatim. The Verbatim ones give me some problems from time to time but the Memorex's have done just fine.

I've used Fujifilm CD-R and DVD-R media for years now without a failure.

My number two choice would be TDK media.

That also depends on the burner you are using, for my NEC ND3500 i use Ricoh and Verbatim, just like nec recommends.

Max, you need to look at the actual manufacturers code on the disc (dvd decrypter displays this).

or you can use: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/DVD_Identifier.htm

I've bought Memorex from futureshop a week apart. the first batch were CMC MAGs, which are total shit. The next lot were Ritek g04s, which are great.

Futureshop/Best Buy BenQs?

Do you know the media code on them? I've always been curious to try them ...

I bought 2 different versions of the BenQ's (diff. look to them / maybe diff. manufacturer). I have also purchased the + and - and every single one has worked great. I got them from FutureShop - they are expensive as hell but every once and a while futureshop drops the prices way low on them.

I've also gone through 100 + and - TDK DVD's and they worked great also.
