Would love to know which flag was checked/unchecked on the compiler for the results so far of the (seemingly) magic patch

Yeah, for some reason, the area around the cantina, like the cantina's roof, performs terrible. Other areas are a lot better.
I'm enjoying the game otherwise, so far, but it's far from being the best SW.
Platforming is clunky and ridiculous and level design and overal visuals are a complete mess. I did the shattered moon level yesterday, and at one point was high enough to look around the level and it's just fucking ugly platforming wires and running walls placed randomly and unrealistic, it's almost like that open world Sonic game at times.
Loot in general sucks and as result makes exploring, still best part of the game, pointless.
Skills and leveling mostly feels pretty useless too. A skill tree for every different stance you never use, and useless force skills (eg pull a group of enemies together... takes 2 skillpoints and I used that once)
Story is ok, nothing special.
Overall, 7 out 10, very average. Lego's Skywalker Saga is still the better (SW) game.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

Exactly. Another nothing burger release in terms of sales, no need to take action.

Yes.
Everyone calling this game excellent is due to the massive 'drought' of good or at least decent (SW) games from the last years. With some very minor / almost zero exceptions.
When you compare this game with the shite we've put up in the past years, yea, it's... 'excellent'. But that's a sad / bad comparison. Anything is better than shite, innit.

Let's not just shit on the devs.
Today's average gamer lacks total self control.
It's like going to a cafe where they serve you the coffee in a shitty manner spilling it while serving it, overpricing it and prolly not really boiling it up. Instead of not revisiting the joint that fucks you over average joe chooses to still go there and is even protecting that shithole.
In normal RL circumstances we would ask that guy what the fuck is wrong with him , but well guess its not the same when it comes to gaming for whatever reason.

This has nothing to do with the devs. This is just leadership pushing broken shit to meet their bonuses.
PC: Yes. Console: No.

I think for situations like these, where the PC version in particular clearly did not get much time or resources given, what actually happened is about the best outcome. The initial reception was cold. The sales surged a bit then cratered. Every outlet made the PC launch into news and shamed EA and Respawn. And we got a very fast response and a patch which actually improved shit and it came ahead of consoles.
Other instances that are parroted online usually - dont preorder, dont buy full price, never buy at launch - so, esentially what we're saying is games should launch and nobody buys them ? That would kill the studio/publisher, it wont lead to some utopic outcome we imagine in our heads.

buying 70 dollar games that are half assed even preordering them and buying the deluxe edition wont help either. waiting for release and buying day 2 instead of one to see the initial reception and see if it has any issueswould be a start. but as i said gamers are too retarded nowadays. thats why almost every AAA release nowadays is a technical mess.
edit: nowadays preordering doesnt make any sense at all. back when games were only avaiable as physical copies which could be sold out locally it could make sense to do it to get a copy at all. But now there should be no incentive at all. dumb hat skins etc or other bs gimmicks dont really count.

As if people can separate the technical and story aspects when they have gotten into their heads that the game "sucks".

technical aspects can be fixed eventually, but a bad game that runs flawlessly will remain like that forever.

Fortunately it's not a bad game pr se. Maybe not the right one for me storywise. I just kinda want to slice the head of more or less every character i meet so i can just play. Not that they're bad, i just feel this type of game is best with as little story and character bloat as possible

and here comes the starbucks crowd.
I payed fallen order and liked it but no one can tell me that this game deserves a 70 dollar price tag.
It's a one and done game that everyone will forget in a month or two lol.
The technical part is a part of the game let's not kid ourselves.
They are welcome to fix the game and make it playable on mid to high end hw.

Yeah and a good game that launched like shit should be remembered for that forever too.

I wonder if EA put the most heavy duty variant of Denuvo in it and it's now biting them in their ass. It's difficult to comprehend that it was released so unbelievably poorly optimized.
