Check out State of Decay 2 if you haven't already, it's pretty surprisingly good sandbox survival with zombies
Epic didn't want to refund it but disabling the AMD stuff fixed the crashes.
Just completed the game and started doing all side missions, lost & found, etc. While the game started slow, it actually turned out to be pretty good and challenging at times.
The first legendary you get is kinda OP though...
I'm still having enough fun to 100% it, then I move on.
As this won't get crakled any time soon, I reinstalled 7 Days to Die... Which is supposed to be one of the better "realistic zombie games" but I can never get into it. Most I played was about 10 hours and then few times reinstalling, playing 3-5 and uninstall. Not following the development at all and from Steam reviews it seems like the devs keep reworking core systems instead of expanding the game. And almost 10 years in Alpha, wtf ?! No idea how it gets 89% positive reviews.
I’m probably about half way through the Dead Island 2 so far and although repetitive and even boring at times, I’m still enjoying it. Definitely gets better through unlocking upgrades, perks and mods. Gameplay improves with finding new weapons and zombie types. I have a couple of guns now and despite hearing gunplay was terrible, I don’t think it’s all that bad. Definitely a nice change to all the melee combat.
The game would also benefit from quality of life updates the main one being a option to sort weapons. Why is there no sorting options in the inventory?! I don’t mind respawning zombies but respawning loot is pretty immersion breaking I have to say. Damage caused also resets when returning to areas which I dislike.
And the mirrors! Just why? If it can’t be done don’t do it lol.
The mirrors thing is most likely for performance since real time reflections are so costly. That is that is shiniest TV I've ever seen, they could've just toned its glossiness down and it would have been far less noticeable.
There are tricks like broken, blurry or darker reflective materials to hide the ugly cubemaps but it seems they didn't have time to implement them.
