I did it for the optical switches mainly and so far it's great. I've got the previous G502 HERO saved in it's box in perfect (used) condition just in case something happened to the X PLUS

After like 13-14 years my Mx 518 is starting to show its age -occasionally losing connection. I think it's the cable. I ordered a new one and I hope it works. Laughing

Any suggtion?

The issues are in the fast scroll button, it's get stuck all the time, I might want new mouse with fast scroll mechanic similar to mx master 3s I have in my office work.

Welp, manged fix my g 502 for now... So I am delaying my purchase.

I decided on planning getting the razer basilisk v3 pro, but I rather wait for a decent price drop or new version.

There was an option to get the g502 x plus but I don't think it's worth the upgrade over the G502 2019 model.

Roccat Kone
Razer Viper Mini

currently using the Kone. i love how extremely light this mouse feels, but the Viper has a much nicer build/texture, feels more solid. it's also even lighter but somehow it doesn't manage to transfer that feeling as well as the Kone.

Ive got a Razer Viper Ultimate, i love it - but it seem to be something wrong with the docking station as i need to move around abit before it start to recharge.
So i need a new mouse - any suggestions? Or should i just get another Razor Viper Ultimate?

(i also need to find a non-black keyboard. With so many cats the constant visible dust is anoying me. I dust yeah, but thats just not enough lol...so everything black needs to go... and yeah, that last part sounded wrong lol)

Managed to get the basilisk v3 pro after all, it's good mouse, much better wheel than the g 502 light speed and better mouse overall, but it has slightly buttons and the sniper button isn't removable like the g 502 x and plus.

I had same mouse too, charging station was always fiddly, but if you clean the contact points on the mouse it will work for a while, i used q-tip and alcohol.

Any suggestions for a new mouse? Light, small, wireless that you don't need to charge / change battery in too often.

I'm using a wirelss now with one AA battery. I've ran it with this battery for like 2 months at least, daily use, it's a cheap $15 mouse. There must be something good with this lengthy usage Smile

i looked at some razer, 95h before needing to charge, no thanks.

Depends on your requirements. I got a Logitech m705 I have had for...hell, about 9 years now. (had to look on Amazon and bought it in 2016)

All the buttons and wheel work perfectly still using it 8+ hours a day for those 9 years. Both clicks are still as crisp as when I got it.

It has the free wheel option I need (well really like it). left right wheel clicks I never use, and two thumb buttons.
I have gone thru 3 mouse pads with this mouse.I work on it, game on it, whatever. Fine for me.

And even with my overt daily usage of it, I change its batteries like once every two months. IF that. Probably like every 3-4
(it's so rare that I forget it is wireless when they die and try to clean the lens thinking it is that)

Now if they still make that model as good as they did in 2016 I cannot say. But if so it's a solid mouse.

Now don't expect any 9000DPI gaming mouse with teflon feet or anything. It's a mid-ish range average office-type mouse. No bells or whistles.
But it fits my hand nice, the indent side for the thumb I like so I don't need to grip the mouse to pick it up, is a workhorse, and works perfectly fine for me in games. I have no complaints.

Same I went thru a LOT of mice between my old Logitech MX518 (the old school one was that was corded and looked like a weird black/silver 'gel looking' top). And this one.
TONS of gaming mice, gimmicky mice, RGB mice, they all died. Then got this one, and stuck with it.

My Viperino from 2020 was losing its edge with the sensors not responding properly and the scroll wheel jumping erratically, so I did the TC-approved ghetto move of tearing it apart à la Wolverine, removed the hairy dust and replaced the encoder with a new one that I snagged from Aliexpress for ~€1. So far so good grinhurt

Decided upon a Logitech G305 Lightspeed instead. Same price as the m705 but its a gaming mouse.

The new m705 has nothing in common with the old apart from looks btw, did som research, not too many seems happy with it (reddit etc), though the amazon reviews are great but they might include very old reviews.

Yeah G305 is a solid mouse. Only issue I've had with it is the scroll wheel getting jumpy after about 1.5-2 years, but then it's a cheap enough mouse and it's fairly easy to fix as well.

G502 Lightspeed. Replaced it 4 times already due to faulty clicker thing for the mouse buttons. Shitty quality, but this last one has lasted for a long time and that's what should have been expected 4 mice ago.
