By "games I return to" I only count ones where I play again despite doing 100% of the plot and finding out all the secrets.

Deus Ex 1 with gmdx since v7
Fallout 1 and 2
Gothic 1 and 2
Risen 1
Planescape Torment
VTM: Redemption (nope, not Bloodlines, Redemption)
Baldur's Gate 1 and 2.
Arx Fatalis
Broken Sword 1 and 2.

Legendary game and yep i install this every once in a while. I still don't think anything has come close to besting it, the nu-games are not remotely the same.

- Final Mod Pack for expanded but retains the original XCOM feel.
- The X-Files mod (same author) for a total conversion.

Also X-Com Apocalypse almost has an open source version ready but its still too buggy last i tested it. Turn-based mode i feel was sadly completely broken, but real-time was playable and it had some interesting mechanics. Julian Gollopp had to cut several interesting features to get the game out the open-source version is possibly going to implement.

Is Return of the Obra Dinn replayable? Isn't it like Outer Wilds where if you know all there is to know there is no point replaying?

PS: Play Outer Wilds if you haven't.

replaying BG2 right now so that's on the list, also various (most) other infinity engine games such as icewind dale

also..

various romance of the three kingdoms and nobunaga's ambition titles
all souls games
dragons dogma
all bungie halos (2 player coop exclusively)
resident evil series (1,2,3,4 solo, 5+6 2 player coop exclusively)
total war - medieval 1,2, shogun 1,2, rome
dwarf fortress
simcity 4
...

playing mostly old stuff these days. I'm almost 40 and can't stand most of the shit that comes out now
when I'm not replaying games I already love I try to play some I know is good but I never played. like recently I played through chrono trigger for the first time (never had an SNES, had a megadrive/master system)

Likot Mosuskekim, Woodcutter cancels Sleep: Interrupted by Elephant.

It comes with the territory.

Afaik it's quite unplayable without Libertatis.

Ah, Arx Fatalis! When I played it back then I was experimenting with finding loot and who could I kill. There was some Dark Knight in some kind of a mini-fort. He probably had like 1k hp while I was doing 1 per hit and he kills me in 2-3 hits. Laughing Took me some quite long time to take him down and I could equip his much higher level armour and weapon. Then it was very easy to kill everything in the town, including quest givers. That's how I "finished" that game. Rolling Eyes
Always wanted to try it again and do it properly but still have some other games in the "Must play some day" list. Severance: Blade of Darkness is on top at the moment.

Not really, I still remembered too much of it and completed it very quickly. I just needed my Lucas Pope fix Very Happy

You should give this mod a try, the full campaign was finished about a week ago. I did the whole play-through, was pretty good:

CB Undying, never got through that may be worth a re-install. Those other games look pretty cool as well never played them.

Are those Fatal Frame games any good as wel anyonel, they've been PC porting those titles lately?
