was straight from the game.....tf u talking about. as for the ep it was another great one
That's weird. I've played through the last of us part 1 twice and I must have gotten a censored or cut version. I don't remember this in the game at all.
halfway in - another LGBT episode /w music and games millennials didn't grow up with.
Did you play the game? It's literally ripped from the game, like 99%, including the music.

It's from the Left Behind DLC, which is included in the remastered version IIRC.
No i haven't played the game. I'm tired of the overuse of my generation's pop culture used in absolutely everything, especially when the characters are 3 generations too far to even know the cure, mortal kombat etc. it's annoying.

whats so bad about introducing good old music to a newer generation. they would probably never hear it otherwise or don't care. as long as it fits? it's not like they are triggering memberberries, since those generations you talk about don't even know this music.
i only have seen episode 1 for now and haven't listened to depeche mode in years, but after hearing it in this episode im kinda into it again the past month and listen to all the 80s stuff again like the cure and new order and so on. haven't done this in years and if newer generations do it because of this, this is a good thing i guess? i rather have them listen to this, then to taylor swift and 6ix9ine
It only annoys me when it jarringly sticks out. Like you have 2x presumable teenage girl characters getting hyped up for a MK2 arcade machine. You can write that scene 150 different ways without hard targeting the main demographic of the game/movie. Same with the jukebox and dancing, so these teenage girls are going to pick out some cult classic Cure music to sing and dance to.
Nu-TopGun same shit, okay so (miles son) non-memorable name/character of Goose is going to.
a) master the piano in 2023, just like Goose did!
b) love the exact same music and learn great balls of fire.. member goose did that!
c) have the whole bar recreate the exact same scene from 1980's top-gun! member TopGun!
it grinds my gears, either incapable writers or its written because you are just too fucking stupid to understand this character is Goose son.
Here is nowhere near as bad as that, I'm not asking for 6nine and taylor swift either but its much more believable than teenage girls geeking out like middle aged men in an arcade.
well in the game pandemic was in 2003, in 2003 depeche mode, arcade games etc were still a thing...in the show its 2013 so still plausable an arcade or depeche mode would still be found in some malls.
as to why she likes arcades...she most def read about them in magazines, even today if u show to some kinds some retro games many will like them despite what the masses think that kinds only like fortnite these days.
a geek will like geek things no matter how old is that shit
I skipped through the ^ IGN video, obviously close to the game which is good then probably not that hard for a competent production team.
..this show is still going alright. Looking at how the game plays in that video I think I prefer this as a TV show. The game looks very cinematic, I found with that other popular movie/game? Nathan Drake blah blah, I preferred just watching the movie as a format (not that the movie is amazing or anything either) than playing the game that plays like a movie.
so far i still prefere the game though, much more time spent with the characters there and sometimes felt rushed in the show, dunno how they wanted to make a movie when clearly even 9ep are not enough. and many times the game is more cinematic than the show, if you havent played the game then u dont know what ur talking about, a game like this can show and do more than a tv show can.
the tv show is not the definitive way to experience tlou story
Well, looks like it was the right choice to hold on watching this. Now I think I will probably skip it and just wait for the buccaneer PC release of the game and experience the story the way it was "originally intended"
I stopped at 4. My wife is bored by this - as goes for a person that didn't know anything about the source material.
I have to say that 4 episodes in and I didn't care much about the characters, the danger of the fungal disease isn't really drawn well and yeah the relationship between the characters so far wasn't engaging.
But well look it has same shots as in game which I and a lot of people never played. IMO it's too overhyped and ended up being I dunno... undercooked.

Yeah it was good! Felt a bit rushed but close to the game for sure.
Spoiler:
The lack of infected is annoying though.
I don’t remember David dropping a C-bomb in the game, that was unexpected lol.
And Ellie stepping on a broken plate during the confrontation would have been cool and a missed opportunity :/
Also the amount of chopping David got didn’t reflect the amount of blood on Ellie.
ep7 start was to teeny and they juist ditch the fella wtf ... started skipping and probably will quit too , hope there is a spinoff of the actual mushroomzombies away from the teeny shit
It's really starting to feel rushed now, they definitely could have fleshed S1 out to 2 seasons and as much as I enjoyed them there was no need in 2 flashback episodes on a 9 episode run
Guessing it was budget / confidence restraints but it should have been 12 eps
I've never played the 2nd game, but it wouldn't surprise me if they split that to two seasons now given the success of this first season.
All in all, pretty disappointing show. Started of really strong, but after episode 3 it's only gone downhill. I think those who played the game had the most fun comparing the scenes, but as a zombie-show, it's not exactly a classic. Maybe if they made 2 seasons of it, but maybe they didn't want to take the risk of the show flopping and getting cancelled after 1 season.
Both The Walking Dead (s01) and The Road did everything better.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
