Yes and it sucked ass.
The game is extremely easy with a K/M in comparison. | My old and depleted ass is finding it challenging with m+kb, can't begin to imagine playing it with le derptroller

It is challenging, god damn, got at the first boss and I thought I was ready - nope.
afterwards didn't even manage to progress half the biome, kept dying like an idiot.
fav weapon so far is the automatic rifle

be patient, try either picking HP instantly or pick it when on full health (when ure full the hp goes to that little 3 bars on the left of HP bar, when 3 are full your overall hp rises - its a must for further playing, u basically have double hp metter and so on)
and yea, that assault rifle is the best one for a long time, also melee attack is great and deals shitload of dmg
also isodemo kinda sucks cuz you can gain shitload of ether in online mode, oh well

Just dashing, jumping and slashing around them, pretty much one hit one kill (dunno if was due to having some artifact or not, though).

melee easily kills what smaller mobs in 1 hit, same for flying shit, also those bigger who are appearing slowly on the map could be put down with 1 hit, they like crouch/stagger, few shots or another swing and they are gone. its part of the process = dont focus much on surviving, consider some runs just as practice.
sometimes its annoying, sometimes you move forward like crazy.
also its worth watching some basic tips on yt (like that hp stuff and what to look for). later on you can also skip most of the previous maps, later levels have some great visual design (beksinski like) and bossess are fucking crazy, gave huge satisfaction after beating up, just like souls games, but in rogue like formula. imo its more for like 1-2h plays, not like 4-5h sessions cuz it might get annoying.

Pretty enjoyable. But quite easy? I died like 4-5 times total and twice on the last boss before beating it. Did not do the Tower yet.

It's quite noticeable that the difficulty was designed for controllers. Most weapons have some sort of perks to make up for the fact that you can't aim properly on a controller. Having such tools on PC makes it a cakewalk at times.
I finished the game in less than 10 hours and in my first cycle afterwards I pretty much dismantled everything in my way. Sadly, getting the true ending requires quite the grind because the 6 items required to unlock the ending have a spawn chance.

In my case the difficulty isn't a problem (..yet), it's just that I genuinely don't enjoy the humdrum roguelike formula - which combined with the bullet hell-like nature of the encounters is a deal-breaker that no cycle in the universe can un-break. The game has a solid atmosphere and plays relatively well even on my potato from the Neolithic, but alas, that's where the positives end for me.

Game is designed to be unforgiving until you unlock the good weapon upgrades and perks. In the first level you need to try not to take any hits so you can upgrade your health with pickups. And buy that astronaut.
Also those cursed chests are rarely worth taking.
After you beat level 3, you are on part 2 and thus dont have to start at level 1 anymore. Level 3 boss is the first difficulty spike imo but manageable once you unlock a few different upgrades and have enough health to take a hit or three.

I am enjoying this more than I thought, but yeah, the roguelike aspects are offputting to me. I don't mind the Dark Souls way of treading back to a boss or section, but this here has the added requirement of stocking up on stuff to even have a fighting chance. With more time available I might consider grinding this out, but given my very limited time for gaming I just don't feel like either gittin gud or having luck with the level generation.
I might try easy mode.

I completed it but then wanted to mop up all the collectibles; started with the glyphs and ran the first level about 15 times to get the final glyph and it would never spawn so got bored and uninstalled. Really enjoyed the game but didnt want 5 more levels or looking for stuff that doesn't always spawn.

Spoiler: | but u didnt really died... |
i tried the ez save mod but with this game u need to restart the game for the backup save to load, so if ur dying frequent it is very annoying
the easiest way i found was to use a trainer and do like 5x the amount of health u have and thats mostly it
i dont like to use trainers but really wanted to play this without going crazy or spend more time on it than i have to

Thanks for the mod suggestions mens but I'll keep at it as is for now.
With each run I learn something new, the real trouble is dying to the boss (first boss) or on some room on lockdown because I didn't prioritize my enemies correctly.
And after making some 20-30min progress while playing only for that, it's extremely hard to pick it up immediately after again. At least on the souls games you could work on your equipment, character or simply grind your way but not here, it feels.
