Try it, but i just bought it normally and it was 1 dollar. I already bought several 1$ deals. The most recent one was a few months ago to play A Plague Tale
I was playing on a dummy account for that $1 deal for a couple of hours. Saw this video and, as far as I can tell, I've switched to my main account and the game was available to play, so I guess the method in the video will work. Savegames from the dummy account doesn't carry over to other accounts tho. Once it expires, I'll try subscribing to another dummy account and see what happens.
Gamepass has some nice titles, but I refuse to pay the full gamepass price and can't fucking stand that UWP thing where you simply cannot access the folders and files, even with that "Take Ownership.reg" method, so I rather pay that $1 on other accounts lol
Gave it a whirl via gamepass and tbh i am quite enjoying it. Had to adjust the fov cause i found it unplayable and reshade is a must for me. Sure it has it's issues but as far as gameplay goes it's better than i expected.
Biggest upside is performance, it's running absolutely flawless here on a 3080Ti.
I tried but it seems that the subtitles are tied to the audio's language, so when I switched to Russian, everything was in Russian, and there was no visible option to switch the subtitles to English. I guess someone would find a way to do it later on.
I'm still at work but it seems this is possible, you just have to be at the main menu to do it:

+ interesting world
+ exploring is fun, climbing/navigating the world is enjoyable
+ fun little mini games to unlock doors etc
+ music is out of this world, mick gordon did a fantastic job.
+ main character is a complete assclown but it's endearing so far. i'm just having a laugh at how unserious it is despite the efforts to make the world so real etc
only negatives for me so far is the combat feels kinda clunky & i hate navigating the menus (playing on pad, so it's forcing me to use ps4 touch pad which sucks donkey balls)

Well, one thing the futuristic and technologically advanced alternate universe of USSR didn't improve on is the cars. Same shitty soviet cars.
To be fair, the graphics are dated. The development time was quite long for this game and some visual aspects don't match the expected standards of today. There's also a visible lack of polish and the production value doesn't always scream AAA.
The writing is absolute ass. I'm not sure if it's a mix between a questionable translation and the English voice acting or this all they came up with.
But the gameplay is rather fun and you have a good variety of weapons and tools to get around. The artistic direction is fantastic and it makes up for a lot of the visual shortcomings as well.

Game is quite enjoyable, aside from some cringy dialogue, though there's actually some "funny" lines like in Duke/Shadow Warrior and such.
Performance-wise it's been running ok-ish on my potato R5 3600X+GTX 1070

thanks for confirming. you can even make it more ridiculous by going through eneba. They have offers for 60 days codes that'll cost you around 90cent
being able to share ultimate membership across accounts that way you could in theory get a year subscription for 6 bucks (on the same account)
--now if somebody could automate the renewal process for every 30-60 days..
It does feel like the game is missing a couple of features. It doesn't bother me too much since they're mostly small things like not being able to use the keyboard in the menus etc.
It frustrates me that there is no option to sprint. An FPS with no sprint?!
Melee combat should have a block too :/

I hate how the game pauses with a tutorial screen during dialogue too and some of the tutorial screens display more than once which is odd :/
