Game does look amazing what good is that when the fps is crap. It's unplayable in Novigrad the big city, slows down to a crawl even with some ray tracing disabled.

1.32 is OG Witcher 3
1.4 is the Next-Gen Version (though technically it's 4.0)
Using some wrapper to get the engine up to DX12 instead of updating the engine is such a classic CD Projekt move |
Yeah Microsoft does not recommend using this wrapper for complex 3d scenes:

Quote: | D3D11On12 has not been optimized for performance. There will likely be moderate CPU overhead compared to a standard D3D11 driver, minimal GPU overhead, and there is known to be significant memory overhead. Therefore it is not recommended to use D3D11On12 for complicated 3D scenes, and it is instead recommended for simple scenes, or 2D rendering. |

They don't give a shit if people notice, simple as.
And to think that before after TW3's release and stellar expansions I still think they did. Cyberderp 2077 was the awakening, mens.

Pretty convenient that all of these issues can go unchecked. If it wasn't an update to an existing game that did extremely well, I reckon review scores would reflect all of these issues
I just can't believe they fucked up again. This free update was undoubtably made to generate good will after Cyberpunk, and it's the same damn thing. Might as well wait 6-12 months before even touching it.

@AMD Users: If you’re using RT, activate Anti-Lag and your microstutters will be gone. (frametimes will be alot smoother)
I found that out by mistake but it works for others too. Its running at 45-50 FPS on UWQHD with RT and FSR2. Good enough to enjoy the new eyecandy.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

PC Hotfix is available!
We’ve just released a hotfix for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC which should improve overall stability and performance of the game, and fix GOG & Steam overlays. The game version won’t change.
Our teams are working on further improving the experience on all platforms.

This HF is amazing.
Now I have 10fps less with RT (35 vs 45fps) and frametime is evenworse than before HF.
Without RT I have 20 fps less. Beginning of Blood&Wine I had maxed 144fps limit, now I have 124fps

The hotfix seemed to help me a lot. Not quite there yet but seems smoother.
RT on, except RT shadows, don't know what effect that has though. Most settings on ultra.

Game runs worse with RTX after this 'hotfix'.
Excellent job! Keep it up.
