All the genetically superior Spehss Mehrines will be black, and the Emperor will be a tranny to get both alphabet people representation and disabled representation in one.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Unfortunately, it will be a chance for female space marines/custodes, mark my words

The lore has it covered. Salamanders are all black. And space nuns (aka Sisters of Battle) are already there, they are warriors, but not genetically enhanced. Regardless, they will find a way to fuck this up for sure and Cavil will not save it.

Like always we just need to wait for the keywords "for a modern audience".
Certainly a "fun" opportunity for Amazon to piss off tons of conservatives who loves WH. Sometimes they will need money though so they can't act like culture war activists all the time.

I think this is a bad idea because the poster boys of 40k, the Imperium, is a fascist state, and while it doesn't really mean anything outside of the world of the game, and if anything shows you how shit and depressing living in a fascist regime would be, some people will latch on to it.
You'll have the virtue signalers who won't understand that it's not glorifying fascism and they'll denounce it for promoting nazis or whatever.
And then you'll also have the actual fascists who don't understand that it's not glorifying fascism and think that the Imperium of man are the good guys purging the xenos or whatever.
Both will be small camps, but they'll be very loud, and it will make trying to read any online discussion about the show very annoying.
If there's one thing you take away from 40k, it's that it sucks being in the Imperium and your best chance of a better life is by joining Chaos because in the Imperium, you'll probably get conscripted to act as fodder for whatever horrors your planet is facing at the moment, and that's it, you're dead. But if you pledge yourself to the Chaos gods, there's a chance you get promoted and actually have super powers. And if you work hard enough, maybe one day they'll even turn you into a demon proper and you get to fly around and party instead of living your day to day in squalor and misery.

Ooof it must be tough being Henry at the moment. I bet he was super high on himself and now he's being rejected from what is arguably his role. Hopefully it doesn't dent his career too much where he starts appearing in B shows and movies like so many before him, but time will tell

But the questions is if he's in any position of power to be able to steer the direction of the project. If the showrunner / writers decides that they want Spacemarines to be throwing out catchphrases and dropping one liners to lighten the mood, there's fuck all Cavill can do unless he's a producer. And like an actual producer and not just being called a producer without any actual say.
I'm hoping he does have a say and they staff it with fans of 40k, but you've gotta be realistic. There's a good chance this will be another committee product that's designed to chase demographics instead of just making something good that people will just want to watch.

He's executive producer, so yes, he should have a say. I don't think he'd have been on board otherwise.

Im not a huge wh40k lore buff, so why does every game seem to avoid the emperor? Its like he might be only a propaganda tool, or its to make him seem bigger and more mysterious.

Probably because he's dead, or is at the very least a vegetable sitting on the golden throne giving turn by turn navigation to the Imperium's ships in the warp, only kept alive by his cult sacrificing a thousand psykers daily.
I'd like to think that he's dead for real and it's the throne that actually powers the Astronomicon through the daily sacrifice of 1000 psykers, and his tech priests just said he was alive to keep the peace. He's only on there because it needs his touch ID or something.
If portrayed, the Emperor is basically just going to be a guy who does whatever it takes to accomplish his goals.

sounds good but remains to be seen i guess.

For 30 years I have dreamt of seeing a Warhammer universe in live action. Now, after 22 years of experience in this industry, I finally feel that I have the skill set and experience to guide a Warhammer Cinematic Universe into life. Partnering with Natalie Viscuso at Vertigo has been a blessing beyond words, without her we might not have found the perfect home at Amazon. And having a home like Amazon will give us the freedom to be true to the massive scope of Warhammer. To all of you Warhammer fans out there, I promise to respect this IP that we love. Our first steps are to find our Filmmaker/Creator/Writer. Watch this space, my friends.

A Space Marine focused story might be a bit rough because it's basically just duty, purge, kill, praise and worship papa emperor. They could do Horus Heresy, but I think they'd have to establish the finding/recruitment of the Primarchs for people to care about those divas
But fingers crossed it's a good story and an accurate adaptation. | But... but... those are my favourite
If the book doesn't feature astartes or primarchs then I'm not reading that shit
Though read this one on a recommendation
And was very pleasantly surprised with it

Amazon can do good to source material for example Reacher, Invincible and The Boys. In this order.
But this show will cost. So I bet it will be some Inquisitorial shit that can't be made in an old warehouse set to be some underhive slums. And not intergalactic full scale war. So no Gaunt, Cain (I would love Cain) and HH that they would have to spend milions upon milions for CGI and costumes.
Also live action SM would look like weight lifters with tiny heads.

I'm pretty sure if the IP is disrespected then it's not by Cavil's choice.

Natalie Viscuso, which he mentions, is his girl friend btw, executive at Legendary Entertainment. So yeah, by the sounds of it it's in good hands.
